Solid wireless headphones.
I have one other pair of wireless headphones which are now 4 years old, I was curious to see how different these might be with more modern technology.... performance wise they are the same, both have great quality sound. This one has the adjustable headband which can be adjusted in small measured amounts, which works fine. The "cans" themselves were very tight for my ears, and I didn't feel like anything longer than a 1/2 hour or an hour was comfortable. I would never pair these with my TV and watch a movie while my wife slept or anything like that. I didn't attempt to play them with any video games, but they worked perfectly with my phone listening to podcasts, it automatically connects when I turn it on which is nice. The other one I have is pads rather than cans and it slides to adjust rather than increments. Overall they are both good. they aren't going to make anyone's top ten list, but they are solid.

This review was posted based on getting them in a giveaway here on smashbomb.

Just What I Needed by The Cars

Track

"This song was a whole other cool factor for me. There was something so cool about it - the sound of it, the synthesiser and what he was singing about. It made such an impression on me, and I’m in love with Benjamin Orr’s vocal performance, it’s incredible. “A lot of these songs are based on vocal performances and guys that I idolise as having a vocal quality, but I also loved the guitar solo. It was the first solo I ever learned to play and it’s a pretty bitchin’, advanced, badass solo. It’s one of the best, so I was pretty stoked about it, but don’t ask me to play it today! I also learnt a bunch of Squeeze solos, Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford are two more of my favourites and the solo on ""Pulling Mussels (from the Shell)” is unbelievable. “With “Just What I Needed” it’s the solo because I’m a guitar player, the sound of it because I’m an engineer and producer and the lyrics because I’m a songwriter. People who aren’t musicians might be surprised by these songs, but they’ve had a big effect on me. I picked these songs based on being pivotal and this was one of those songs for many reasons. I’m still trying to write that song."

"It was his first great album. All of his early albums have their own sound, and the atmosphere and some kind of other-worldly quality is what first grabbed me. Hunky Dory was where his lyrics got much better. The songs sound very simple, but in terms of the chords they are really complex. ‘Changes’ has got lots of weird things going on but it never sounds muso. It’s his first classic album. What are the standout tracks? It’s easier to say the ones that aren’t. Every day of my life I sing them. ‘Kooks’, ‘Changes’ and ‘Bewlay Brothers’ are my favourites. I like ‘Andy Warhol’ and ‘Queen Bitch’, but I think those are the two that don’t stack up as much. Charisma goes a long way – so people have told me anyway. Even now he doesn’t overdo it. I saw it in a shop in Norris Green, and I used to stare at it for ages, it wasn’t a sexual thing, but I couldn’t stop being lost in the world of his music. It was spiritual, there was nothing else I thought about. It was Bowie was who got me interested in music, then I got into the Velvets and Iggy."

They sound like my friends, only they don't know me.
My Personal number 1, favorite podcast about boardgames. Give it a listen...
I love these guys, and they throw a great party at all the major conventions. This past year at Gen Con they took over a brewery and an entire city block. They are generous with their time and energy, and love what they talk about. The host does a kickstarter to do this professionally. The quality and the sheer amount of content is amazing, I can't imagine doing what he does with a day job. The scope of games they cover ranges from light weight card games to really heavy miniatures and they even have a Roleplaying podcast that wins awards too. Give them a listen and delve into the secret cabal world.

Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018)
2018 | Animation, Comedy
More of the same as the cast of the Hotel decide to go on vacation (the family decide to take all their friends obviously), on a cruise ship.
The overall plot was OK, but quote obvious, but the humour was definitely turned down compared to previous films in the series.
And what is with the obligatory DJ battle scenes?! Does Sandler have a load of low quality dance tracks he has to shoe-horn into movies as part of his contract now?! Just a total nonsense ending.
Having said that, my kids loved it.
I think I have unconsciously removed a couple of marks simply because my kids insisted on replicating the finale's dance moves for the next three hours (this makes me sound like a monster but once you know what that involves you'll understand!).

Beauty is a strange thing; here one day, gone the next. There is something about this song that feels permanent. Yeah maybe a mix this good shouldn't have such quality lyrics; maybe there shouldn't be violins without a quartet; maybe the lead vocal should be trying harder to sound like something we know already.

Bold Forbes finds a middle ground between Bob Dylan and Violent Femmes. The production is gorgeous. I needed this message. You might need it too.

“And while some swear that river did not used to run
There are others who scoff as they stand in the sun
Getting angry ‘cause anger is fun”
— Bold Forbes
it's not just about those who do wrong, and those who do right; there are also those who do nothing.

The answer? More love, more life. Right now.

Virtually flawless
I need to start off by saying that prior to owning these, I have never used any sort of wireless headphones and neither do I claim to be a headphone connoisseur. I usually just use the free ones you get with phones. All I will say is that I really hope that all other wireless bluetooth headphones are as brilliant as these are.

They look fantastic. From the small pill box shaped container to the headphone, they look sleek and stylish and are fairly small too. They're simple to set up - as soon as I opened them, my phone recognised them and linked them straight away, so quickly done. And the even recognise when you've put them in your ears! The Samsung Wearables app is a great tool to be able to check the battery on the headphones and change the equaliser and what actions the touch controls make. Sound quality is brilliant and they really do block out surrounding sound so well - I wore them at a busy gym (which had loud music on in the background), and couldn't hear anything other than myself. The ambient sound feature is a nice touch too for those occasions when you want to be able to hear things around you.

The fit of the headphones is surprisingly good. They come with 3 different sizes of rubber wings & tips so you can easily find a size to fit you, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that once these are in my ear, I didn't have to keep pushing them in to stop them from falling out. In fact I used these at the gym and whilst out and about, and I never once had them fall out like standard headphones do. And if they do fall out or you lose one, theres a 'find my bud' feature that will help locate them (assuming they havent got too far!).

They aren't perfect though. The touch pad controls are a little temperamental. This could be due to a novice user, or just how it is. Also the positioning of the headphones and touchpads means if you like to lie on your side and listen to music in bed, it could be difficult. And the other slight issue is the battery life. Combined charge between the headphones & pod is around 13 hours, which isn't a lot. Although I'm probably only moaning because it means it's another piece of tech that I have to remember to charge.

These are only very slight niggles though. These are by far the best headphones I've ever owned - great sound quality, intuitive, great size and very functional. I'll never go back to wearing wired headphones again.

I'm planning on getting the S10 in Nov/Dec (when it's hopefully on sale on the employee website), but I've been leery about the ear bud situation. Your review is super helpful and has convinced me that they're making enough parts to ensure they'll work with different ear-sizes. Thank you!!

I usually have issues with headphones fitting in my ears and have had issues with the standard issue Samsung headphones in the past, but I am hugely impressed with how well these fit! And you can use the wireless powershare with the S10 ?

Fantastic sound
I received this device as a giveaway from Smashbomb, that said this review will not be biased in any way. Thank you again Smashbomb.

On unpacking the Sonos Play:1 it was bigger than I had expected (oooo....errrr). It has a great build quality, is quite heavy but is a solid design. As I had been informed I was receiving the device I had already downloaded the Sonos app onto my Android phone (Huawei P10) so there was no waiting around to get it set up. The text steps and pictures to set up the device were clear to anyone, whether tech savvy (like myself) or the not so tech savvy (my Mum). It is recommended when setting up the device that you plug it in next to your internet router, when setup is completed, you can then move it to anywhere within Wi-Fi range in your abode. As I said follow the simple steps and you will be up and running in no time.

I had extra steps as I wanted to hook it up to my Amazon Echo as a smart device this was done by enabling the Sonos skill on the Alexa app and linking the accounts. As I don't have an Alexa device in my kitchen, I had decided that was where the Sonos Play:1 was going. I had previously named the device 'Kitchen', now all configured I could now ask on my Amazon Echo in another room to play whatever music I liked on 'kitchen' and sure enough the music started playing out of the Play:1. On the updated Alexa app for my Android device I can now give the same command when in the kitchen and it will begin playing.

The Sonos Play:1 has only 3 buttons, volume up/down and a play/pause button so you can manually turn the volume up and down. The play/pause button I thought was clever in that when pressed it stops playing but when pressed again it remembers what was playing, be it music or a radio station. With the Sonos app you can turn the volume up or down too.

The sound is very crisp and of very high quality considering it is coming over Wi-Fi, whatever you are playing through this device it will be an excellent sound experience. The Sonos app also lets you select music and radio sources within it, whatever you are subscribed or signed up for the Play:1 will be able to play it.

I hope this review has been helpful and if I hadn't been gifted a Sonos Play:1, I would have ended up buying one or putting it on my Birthday/Christmas list.

"This is a very important album for me. When John Peel was alive, before he went off on the holiday that he didn’t come back from, he asked a few of us to look after his radio show for him – Siouxsie Sioux, Robert Smith – and he said that Rick and I could do anything we wanted, which was very generous of him. So Rick asked him if there was anything he wanted us to play and he handed us Tripper and said, “this has just come in and I really like it.” As somebody who grew up with John being my most important musical teacher, especially his philosophy around cross-collateralised ideas between musical genres – this was important because it was the last album he ever gave me. The last record he asked to be played on air. But I loved the sound of the album – again, they have a whole other structure for writing songs. They have this filmic quality. It’s a very panoramic sound. They were one of the first bands I ever heard using that glitchy, cut-up electronic vibe and yet incorporating it with traditional instruments. And when I go and see them live, sometimes they’re a three-piece, then a seven-piece, or they’ll have an orchestra with them – they defy definition. They just make beautiful music."

You cant bluetooth songs to is, its only a sender NOT a receiver (0 more)
Fantastic for the price
I gave this a go as my wife was looking for something that she could listen to when she was walking the dog. When it came I was amazed by just how many functions it has. Aside from the mp3 and video capabilities, it also has photos, ebooks, pedometer, fm radio, stop watch, alarm and lots more. I was a little perturbed to find that I could not Bluetooth songs to it, only connect it by Bluetooth to headphones. It comes with all the necessary cables and instruction. It also comes with a strap on armband so you can easily slip the mp3 player into it, which makes it ideal for those people who want to jog or run whilst listening to music. A great item for a great price (£34.99 on Amazon)
