TravelersWife4Life (31 KP) rated Love's Mountain Quest (Hearts of Montana, #2) in Books
Feb 23, 2021
Love’s Mountain Quest by Misty M. Beller is the second book in her Hearts of Montana series. It can be read as a stand-alone (I have not read the first book yet) and not be left feeling like you are missing something.
Joanna, I thought was an interesting character. She is straight forward, she knows what she wants, and is a strong woman both physically and mentally. I thought Misty M. Beller did a great job of using these strengths while balancing out her softer feminine side. Isaac was more layered than Joanna as the story unfolds. He has a sense of mystery about him right until the very end. I thought both characters balanced each other out.
The storyline follows Joanna and Isaac on their quest to rescue Joanna’s son bouncing back and forth between them and the bandit’s party and their captives. I thought it flowed very well and kept the story progressing at a very good rate.
I give this story 4 out of 5 stars for the interesting characters, the theatrical elements to the story, and for the good flowing storyline. While this story was good, it did not live up to Misty M. Beller’s usual storytelling craftsmanship. I think because there was not as much detail and meaningful interaction between characters. But it was still a good story that I recommend reading.
*I volunteered to read this story in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

This isn't the first Robert langdon book of the series but for lovers of history and secret societies this book is an excellent read.
Robert Langdon the academic becomes a tweed wearing indiana Jones in his quest to follow a trail left many year ago that supposedly leads to the resting place of the holy grail
Along the way he encounters the knights Templars and opus dei in there modern form.
The book is an action packed roller coaster ride describing in detail many historical landmarks.
Will you go on a journey with him to find the holy grail

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated The Orphanage of Miracles (The Orphanage of Miracles, #1) in Books

What an incredible journey [Amy Neftzger] takes us on in [The Orphanage of Miracles]! As a public school teacher as a got to the end it seemed to me an allegory for what is happening to our education system. That even though they have good intentions, the people in charge are stifling "miracles". You can not have success without failure, it is how we learn.
Of course I may be reading too much into this as I have a tendency to do when I am passionate about something. The "quest" of Kelsey helped her to grow. At the same time the "questioning" of Maggie, Nicholas, and Jovan helped them free themselves.
I definitely recommend this book! Never stop growing miracles

I love these books. And the second one does not disappoint! The story continues with Sorrowlynn learning to fight so she can go after Golmarr, her love who now hates her.
After some mishaps Sorrow learns that her life has been predicted and she must choose to follow the path. Gaining new friends and enemies this book continues the epic quest.
I adore both Sorrow and Golmarr. They have a love that is tested again and again. Yet they have to learn to get past obsicales together. The story does a great job of keeping you on your toes while making you read super fast to find out what will happen.
highly recommend to anyone who loves dragons, fantasy, and really good plots.

Any regular reader of Board Game Quest probably knows by now my love for cooperative board games. Much likes playing the game of Craps in the casino, it’s a lot of fun to have a group of people working together towards a common goal. You win together, you lose together. Thus, enter the newest cooperative board game to get reviewed here: Space Alert.
It also has the honor of being, spoiler alert, my absolute favorite cooperative board game on the market today. Space Alertcombines chaotic real time game mechanics with cooperative game play for what amounts to a really fun experience.

Jo (37 KP) rated Ironside: A Modern Faerie Tale (Modern Faerie Tales #3) in Books

Definitely enjoyed this the most out of the three. Have to admit, though, I still didn't feel much heat between Kaye and Roiben, but <s>Corny</s> Neil and Luis were adorable!
I kinda figured that <spoiler> when the Queen demanded Kaye used Roiben's name, and she commanded him with a false one, that shoulda won her the quest. Cos, I mean, she couldn't even say the cup of tea was cold when it wasn't, and that's much the same kind of untruth as calling someone by a name that's not theirs. It's like standing in front of an oak tree and declaring it an elm - bet she couldn't do that.</spoiler> But whatever. Loopholes or some shit, I guess.
