Once again, the versatile Jordan Elizabeth returns to the fantasy/paranormal genre with a unique novel, Secret Silver Songs. With vampire-like men and demon-like creatures, the story takes the reader on a journey from an idyllic island to ruined cities, death and destruction.

Protagonist, Jemilla, is the daughter of the city's Singer - a man who can protect the city through the power of song. Life on the island is calm and peaceful; there is no crime, there is no danger, there is no fighting; so, no one was prepared for an invasion of blood-drinking Thistly. When her father is killed along with the majority of the population, there is no one left to save the island. Only men could become Singers, or so they claimed, but Jemilla is hiding a secret - she can Sing too.

At the beginning of the novel, Jemilla comes across as an anxious teenager, having been plagued by an overactive imagination for most of her life. Yet, as the story goes on, her frightening thoughts appear to be not as imaginary as she originally believed. A silver woman that no one but Jamilla can see taunts her daily and seems to want Jemilla to fail in her quest to save the island from the Thistly. Mid-story, however, alliances appear to change and Jemilla must figure out which team the silver woman is playing for and discover the truth about her home island.

From the very first chapter, Jordan Elizabeth captures the reader's attention with fast-paced action that never stills until the Epilogue. Taking aspects of history, such as rules for women written by men, the author subliminally advocates for women's rights. Secret Silver Songs demonstrates that enemies can be beaten but also that your true enemy may not be who you expect. Above all, never underestimate the power of song.

"When I was growing up, hip-hop was pretty new. My oldest brother was really into it. Also, we had MTV from about 1990 onwards, so you'd see all these different people - A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy and Gang Starr - just became a soundtrack to whatever we were doing. I picked that one because I love DJ Premier's production, but also Guru's voice. I'm a big fan of the experimentation within hip-hop. Nowadays, people feel hip-hop has gone mainstream or whatever, but at that time, people were making records that were sampling very out there, experimental music, but combining them with parts from classical or jazz recordings, resulting in this very dense collage of sounds that is at times not even very melodic, but it's always got an amazing groove to it. It was those aspects in combination with Guru's voice, I just found it really inventive and exciting. Also, I would listen to it, and want to know where the samples had come from, and then I would go on missions to try and track things down. I think there was a Monk Higgins sample used on the track, 'Code Of The Streets', and that's just very alien-sounding. It's very basic, but it uses this beautiful violin part all the way through the track. They must have just been listening to such a wide variety of music, and what they've come out with is much more interesting that what came out post that era of hip-hop. You get some songs where there's a whole song taken, with just new lyrics added on. Back then though, there would have been as many as forty songs sampled in one song sometimes."

Settlement building has so issues
This is my world now.
So I know I am late to the game here, but I finally treated myself to a new console and this game. Oh god was it worth it!
My husband is not exactly thrilled, but looking myself in the Commonwelth has helped me deal with a lot of stress and anxiety. Thanks COVID!
There are sk many ways to play, things to do and tiny details.
There is also the ability to build your own settlement, which is both brilliant, and infuriating in equal measure. It's so cool to display your finds in a player home you built yourself. Though if I find one more random settler in my bed I will shoot him!
Unlike Fallout 3, the enemies seem to get stronger as you do, so getting yourself overpowerd is not an easy thing to do (well, it was not for me anyway), and you will get your a*s handed to you a few times.
There is just so much, you can build your own Mr Handy's (with the expantion), your companions can interact with one another, the law runs deep and there are more Easter eggs than you can shake a bunny at!
Love it, despite the near constant crashes that can occur, the quicksand function helps deal with this, once you get into the habit of doing it regularly.
Quest lines range from funny, sad, disturbing tk just plain nuts! A little something for everyone.
All in all, it has its flaws, but is a great follow up the 3, a must for any fallout fan.

Recovering from their grisly encounters with the dead, they're more prepared than ever before. They work on finding the sources of bloodshed and imprisoning the crazed collectibles.

With murderous ghosts continuing to raise the death toll, Victor and Jeremy have their hands full. They race against time to stop the mayhem and save innocent bystanders. Fueled by their quest for revenge, each step brings them toward the culprit behind all the horror. So I’m such a drip and didn’t realise it was an ongoing series so that answers the end of my review of the first book! So more haunted objects are sold into the world with horrifying results. It’s getting a little more personal and now he has little Annie back. Also Stefan has seriously pissed off daddy! I still think it was very rushed like the first book. Walters rifle could have featured a little more. Still a decent horror read.

Roll Player- is a excellent board game, i love the theme, the gameplay, the replayablity, everything about i love.

In Roll Player, you will compete to create the greatest fantasy adventurer who has ever lived, preparing your character to embark on an epic quest. Roll and draft dice to build up your character’s attributes. Purchase weapons and armor to outfit your hero. Train to gain skills and discover your hero’s traits to prepare them for their journey. Earn Reputation Stars by constructing the perfect character.

The player with the greatest Reputation wins the game and will surely triumph over whatever nefarious plot lies ahead!

Gameplay:

In Roll Player, a game round is divided into 4 phases. The Roll Phase, the Dice Phase, the Market Phase and the Cleanup Phase.

ROLL PHASE - The Start Player draws dice out of a bag, rolls them, and places them in numerical order on Initiative cards in the center of the table.

DICE PHASE - Players take turns selecting an Initiative card, placing their die on their Character Sheet and taking Attribute Actions associated with the Attribute the die was placed in.

MARKET PHASE - Players purchase cards from the market that represent Traits, Skills, Weapons, and Armor.

CLEAN UP PHASE - Return remaining dice to the bag. Return Initiative cards to the center of the table. Refresh 1 Skill card. Pass the Dice Bag to the player on the left.

The game ends at the completion of the round in which all players have filled all Attribute Rows on their Character Sheets.
Players then calculate their Final Scores to determine the winner!

Its a fun, entertaining, excellent game and i highly recordmend buying it.
