This book has so many uplifting and funny moments!

I enjoyed this short story about Chantelle and Dennis, the characters were described quickly but enough that you felt engaged with the characters. I enjoyed their banter back and forth with each other, and I liked what Chantelle said:

“I figure, if folks could spend less time just waiting for love and more time finding ways to give love, it would help”- Chapter 3.

That is one of the underlying themes in this book that I think needs to be broadcasted far and wide. Others include the younger generation needing to step up and show the world what they do and leaning on God for our ups, and downs in life. Chantelle and Dennis have so much laughter together and they learn about each other over time the way good friends and life-long partners do.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars for the creativity in creating a great story in a short story, for the inspirational quotes throughout this book (I had a hard time choosing just one to include!), and for the message of speaking up and not being afraid.

*I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

Tell Your Children (Reefer Madness) (1936)
1936 | Crime
Dry as a bone but straight-up hysterical, the same year that doctors were prescribing and recommending 'healthy cigarettes' to the average consumer this violently clueless scare tactic was launched unironically into the public about how "the scourge of marijuana" is destroying America's moral fiber lmfao. Honestly makes weed look fucking awesome, especially in the face of whatever puritanical bullshit people thought it was a threat to at the time and even now. The acting is full-send idiocy, these people act like meth-heads rather than people who just took one hit of bum ass 30s pot. Made me utter quotes like "damn those are some weakass buds" and "oh shit he's going 45 look out!". Obviously this is disgusting, stupid, and reprehensible to anyone with half a brain cell but shockingly has some decent cinematography and editing tricks as well as being - truthfully - not all that much more reductive and over-the-top than today's average pot PSA or Hollywood movie involving drug use. Still needs to be made fun of today, because - despite what we may think - not every idea in this laughable fear-mongering trash's head has fully dissipated over the years. Alone it's fine but this is some mega "watch with friends and goof on it" curriculum.

**BOOK SYNOPSIS**
When Ellie Fields accepts a teaching job in a tiny Louisiana town deep in bayou country in 1949, she knows her life will change--but she could never imagine just how dramatically.

Though rightfully suspicious of outsiders, who have threatened both their language and their unique culture, most of the residents come to appreciate the young and idealistic schoolteacher, and she's soon teaching just about everyone, despite opposition from both the school board and a politician with ulterior motives. Yet it's the lessons Ellie herself will learn--from new friends, a captivating Cajun fisherman, and even a legendary white alligator haunting the bayou--that will make all the difference.

Take a step away from the familiar and enter the shadowy waters of bayou country for a story of risk, resilience, and romance.

The one with all the FRIENDS
Friends is a show about 6 people-

siblings Ross and monica Gellar (still suffering with sibling rivalry) monicas neighbours from across the hall Joey tribbiani (a struggling actor, with the IQ of a child but a heart of gold) and Chandler Bing (the groups comedian and Ross's college roommate) monica's High school bestie Rachel Green ( queen Rachel. Who does whatever she wants in her little Rachel land) & phoebe buffay (wacky, unpredictable and very odd).

The characters and their daily lives are what makes this show great as it mirrors the reality of every day people, although there have been shows since it ended that have had a similar impact on viewers, none have truly come close to being as genuine.

Heart warming storylines, legendary one liners and quotes we all still use today, there's Love, Laughter, Lust, Loss and great cameos from brad Pitt, Jeff Goldblum, Robin Williams, Paul Rudd, Bruce Willis and so many more, it's easy to see why after nearly 20yrs since it ended, it's still here.

Its 2019 & I have personally watched this show from beginning to end (with a little help from Netflix) 7 times an will continue to do so.
