A raw, relatable journey...
I read the book in a single sitting, this book contains poetry and prose of the highest calibre.
Lauren Cresswell writes a raw, emotional journey, one that no matter what your experiences of love, lust or loss, you will definitely relate to.
Expect to feel a strong range of emotions, ones that will bring up many memories of the best of times, and maybe the worst of times, the times that make us who we are.
At points this book literally brought me to tears. The book gives us a no-holes-barred, at some point almost psychedelic view into the author's experiences, experiences we all know too well, with a form that perfectly highlights the highs and lows of love.
Overall, a must read for anybody.

MusicCritics (472 KP) rated Between The Earth & Sky by Lankum in Music
Nov 2, 2017
There is folk that wants to whisper in your ear, and then there is the music of Lankum: urgent, desperate and detonating, full of lyrics and sounds smacking together like waves shattering stones in a storm.

Nearly nothing likeable about any character. It was more of a scale of who I disliked most and why. I won't go into that. Elsewise the plot seemed obvious, and the ending rushed. I still enjoyed it, especially the integration of two black sheeps in a herd of wolves in sheeps clothing. One needed love, the other craved it ravenously.
Peter G. (247 KP) rated The Pianist (2002) in Movies
Jun 5, 2019
Adrian Brody's Oscar winning performance here has never been bettered and his film choices since have been questionable, however his turn as a talented pianist caught on the wrong side of the fence during Germany's occupation of Warsaw is heartbreaking, nuanced and raw.
There is very little dialogue towards the middle of the movie, as the onscreen images speak volumes, essential viewing.

Anthony Trombetta (3 KP) rated Patriots Day (2016) in Movies
Mar 23, 2018
Storytelling in the Raw
The Director, Peter Berg, has always done his due diligence in providing the most accurate means of storytelling when it comes to films based on real events, however harsh or offensive they might be. Patriots Day can fill you with anger, sadness, joy or hope, sometimes all at once, which is precisely the task of the director and crew....feeling.
Rolling Stone's 17th greatest album of all time
It's easy to ignore this album as simply the album with the most overplayed rock song in the world, but it is a superb album. Smells Like Teen Spirit aside, every song offers something different, passionate, raw and emotional. This was a very welcome return visit to an album I loved and then ignored for too long.
