I love this film! I tried to read the book first but couldn't get into it. I watched the film and couldn't take my eyes off the screen and now want to try the book again! I would recommend anyone to watch this film

Huh

I guess I wanted more romance from this. It was building slowly from pretty early on and then...nothing! I guess I'd have to read the rest of the series now to found out what, if anything, is going to happen with Braxton and Jessa.

"Humboldt is another hero of mine: exuberant, impulsive, world-embracing. He was a favorite of Darwin’s too—Darwin took this narrative with him on the Beagle, and as he read it, his feeling for Humboldt intensified: ‘Formerly I admired him,’ he wrote. ‘Now I almost adore him.'"

In Time Zero Carolyn Cohagan describe a world run by fanatics. The point of view is from a young girl growing up in this time and being forced into a marriage against her will. Some seem to compare the descriptions to more radical Islam nations now but I do not see the difference between how some men deem women as property now in the U.S. Depending on your perspective when you read this book it will appear different. I read this book during the presidential elections and saw it as poignent and scary. I do not think the autor is too far from the truth as to what could happen.

No, this isn’t a book about the 2018 mid-term elections; it is a collection of historical, fictional short stories about real women we probably know nothing about, although some of them carry well-known names. I loved “Almost Famous Women” by Megan Mayhew Bergman when I read it, and I thought now would be a good time to remind people of this lovely collection. (Okay… I’ll admit, the results of the US elections did influence my choice to post about this particular older book review.) You can read this revised review on my blog now. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2014/12/25/women-who-orbited-fame/

To an almost nine year old who had trouble reading oh so long ago, with the help of my mother, I became so engrossed in reading these books aloud, that I now have everything ever written about Pern. (0 more)
Learned to read with these books
Learning about Pern from Lessa’s point of view was enchanting from a nine year old’s perspective. Over thirty years later, I reread this series over and over again. Both my mother and grandmother had read the series before me and now I’m reading it to my nine year old niece.

Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn is a hilariously quirky exploration of free speech, and what happens when it gets taken away. Full of whimsy and guaranteed to make you smile! I enjoyed this book so much, that I tend to re-read it every now and again - just to renew my appreciation for letters and words.

It's a quick and fun read, won't take you much time at all, but be ready for tongue twisting silliness that increases in hilarity as the book goes on. A must-read for any lover of the English language.

Wow! What can I say about this book apart from that I loved it and go read it now! :D
I got drawn into this story so much and I loved the characters...and oh my goodness the twists and the turns (many unexpected) just kept me guessing and left me gasping with disbelief. I have rarely hated distractions and interruptions so much but I just didn't want to put this book down.
If you want a roller-coaster of a read where you are constantly stuck to the back of your seat...this is the book to read!

"To Kill a Mockingbird just gets better with age. I’ve read Harper Lee’s masterpiece over and over again. It’s a great read at age 11 and 23 and 35. Recently, at 42, I took it on vacation to read again. Age changes the book, like a painting that changes when you look at it from different angles. I used to spend all my time thinking of Scout. Now I spend most of my time focused on Atticus and Tom and Boo Radley. It’s timeless and perfect; I can’t wait to share a copy with my daughters. Especially with my daughter named Harper."

I just finished it & now I'm just mad that the next book isn't out. I CANNOT WAIT TO READ IT! The end definitely leaves you hanging. Just when you think you start to get it, it's over & you have no idea what will happen next. Wonderful, wonderful book!
