I have tried, over and over and over again, to get through this book. I just can't and I won't try anymore. There are far better books to read than to waste time on one that's not worth the expense it takes to get through it. Technically, the writing is good, but everything is just so boring and lifeless; I don't care about anyone or anything. Maybe if it didn't often read like a history lesson and had some movement, I would have liked this book better. Good historical fiction incorporates the history seamlessly into the narrative. This book didn't and the history actually came in chunks that disrupted the story. This is an author I'll be sure to steer clear of from now on.

It's official. I have fallen in love with Sicarius.
As fun as it was being inside Maldynado's head--and it was hilarious at times--with his "spelunking" comment in regards to Yara. If you've read the book you'll know the comment I'm referring to, if not then you should totally find out. Like I said before: hilarious.
I have to confess I was more interested in the Amaranthe and Sicarius situation. He melted me into a puddle of goo again in this one and I'm eagerly awaiting more of them.
The next book is based on him and I cant wait to read what goes on in his head when he goes into his silent mode or gives people his icy stare. Off to buy it now!

I've read this book 6 time.. 6 BLOODY times, and i'm still left with the same thought... Who is he?
Now i have my theories in this and i have my doubts but damn is it ever a roller coaster of pure sexual tension.
Now i don't always like when there's too much tension, i mean yea i get it. You want to screw her brains out, but like come on are we teengers afraid to go near the person we like because we're afraid they aren't going to like us back when clearly they are giving you the " come here" eyes.
You're an adult now pull up your big boy panties and go get her, GOD DAMN MAN.
Although.. i will say this, i still love it because even though i've got to wait because the author loves to toy with my emotions -.-" It is incredibly written to the extent that i'm literally laughing with joy at how it proceeds.

This is going to be lengthy and a little roundabout up here I go...
When I first read this book I was in middle school ~12or so. I loved it and tried as hard as I could to find the prequel. The pet peeve was my favorite character (I -for some quark of the universe- find all of Thanith Lee’s series the second books before the first ones). It scared me and made me think. This was not my normal image of what a unicorn was and a female lead was quite new to me, especially one that saves herself. When I was 15 I read it again as I had found the third book. It had changed. I found Tanaquil self-centered and for all her travels short sighted. The relationship between the sisters was weird and not yet having read the first book I found Tanaquil being unfair toward her mom. I also found the interaction between her and the men interesting. I finally found the first book in my twenties so I reread the series. It had changed again. I realized how badly things could have turned out how lucky she was and yes still scared of some of the parts but was for different reasons. The interaction between the men and women were annoying anyone who wasn’t a main character was frivolous and silly. And having read the first book seeing Tanaquil not as self centered. I was also amazed that it was labeled a kids book. Now in my thirties, it has changed again. Mostly because of what is going on in the world. The best intentions of Tanaquil’s half sister which always unnerved me, I understand better. I as an adult realized this was the first (or one of the first) books I had ever read in which there is no clear cut villain. It is well written and worthy of being read over and over and I will lend it to my friends, nephews, and cousins to read.

Samantha and Hunter knew each back in the day but it has been more than 10 years since theyÂ’ve seen each other. When she returns home after her auntÂ’s mysterious death to do her own investigation she find Hunter is just as yummy now as then. When he warns her off the investigation she finds the order hard to comply with. Being a Detroit cop now to his hometown sheriff she doesnÂ’t bend as easily as she may once have. She knows her Aunt is one of a few mysterious deaths that she needs to figure out.
Hunter has a lot of eyes on him so he wants to do everything by the book. He knew Samantha coming home would be a problem for him and his investigation but he didnÂ’t think it would be his attraction to her causing the issues. Working together to solve these cases has his imagination on overdrive, but does she feel the same way about him?
This was my first read by these authors and though it read ok it wasn’t a grab my attention kind of read. It had good bones, for sure, but wasn’t executed well in my opinion. The storyline dragged at times and I found myself skimming pages pretty often. It was erotic with tons of sex and encounters with little to no storyline dictation (not that sex needs that but usually it has a rhyme or reason within the story). A 3 ½ star read for me that I received from Netgalley without expectation for review. Any and all opinions expressed are my own.

Before I begin, I would just like to say that I did, really enjoy this book so my three star review is by no means a bad thing, if I hadn't have enjoyed it I wouldn't have finished it, I just didn't get as absorbed in it as I wanted to. The book is beautifully and perfectly crafted and the premise was so well portrayed that you're almost led to believe that it all could be true. I don't even know what it was that made me fail to connect with this book emotionally because it's normally the sort of thing I would leap at and I'd been meaning to read it for so long yet somehow now that I've finished it feels more like a sense of achievement and a relief rather than a "what am I going to do with my life now" moment that I so often feel when finishing a book. Nevertheless, it was still very very good and I would still highly recommend it.

CHOZEN: PART ONE comes with a trigger warning, and it's DARK, so pay heed to it. This book won't be for everyone for any number of reasons. If you can read it though, be prepared to read an intricate, twisted, multiple-perspective story.
Now, as already stated, this is told from multiple people which, for me, made it a bit confusing as there were simply so many of them! It does give you a well-rounded view so, for that, I'm thankful. I just had difficulty remembering who was who and what their role was.
You have no idea who to trust as you travel with Tucker and find out more about his situation. Can I just say, it sucks? It's a scary situation for him to be in, and I was on tenterhooks when I read his chapters.
Although this is definitely NOT a romance, you do get hints about possible pairings in the future. And if you've read any of The Playroom in the past, it may help with this.
All in all, I... want to say enjoyed it, but that just sounds so wrong! I was gripped, enthralled, intrigued, and will be reading Part Two as I really want to see where this goes and how it all plays out.
I absolutely do recommend this... but just be aware that it ends on a cliffhanger, and is DARK.

Now for Something Really Old: Troyes
I love this game. Let’s get that out of the way. I know a lot of people are claiming JASE (Just Another Soul-less Euro) with this one, and it certainly does not have that wonderful thematic feeling that some are looking for in their games. But, for me, it provides scads of really interesting decisions and strategies, while including dice (which I love when done well) and a variability that really amps up the replayability. I adore the art, on the cards as well as the board, and it scales well for player number.

Witty and chaotic, Coyote Blue is a unique read. Poor Samson Hunts Alone, or as he is known now Sam Hunter. His life is orderly and known. At least until Coyote appears. Where there is Coyote there is chaos. Now Sam has to figure out how to put his life together, get the girl, keep his biggest secret safe.
Filled with Coyote stories and lots of chaos. Also when they talk about medicine it's not magic but it's also not not magic. It is hard to describe.

At the Drive In made the most responsible call when they put their legacy on hold in 2001. Now older and wiser, they're much better prepared to nurture their blaze than before. All it needed was a little room to breathe.
