I have had this book on my to-be-read pile for years and I don't know why I waited so long to read it because I was gripped from the start. I haven't read the first in the series but this didn't cause a problem at all and certainly didn't detract from my reading experience.

I love the two main characters, Claire and Nick. They are interesting, flawed and totally believable. The pace is great and it's one of those books where you say "just one more chapter!" and before you know it, it's way past your bed time. The plot was gripping and I didn't guess who the killer was until the end when everything came together and finished satisfactorily for me.

It's a shame there haven't been any more books in this series - well none that I can find - because I would definitely read them however, I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good serial killer thriller and my thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest, unbiased and unedited review.

Kay has never felt wanted or loved by her parents and has a strong resentment towards them. The only people she can trust in her life are Elizabeth, Zayn, James and David. When dark shadows start attacking people Kay will find out who she can trust as she battles to save everybody against the destructive shadows and their chaos.

I absolutely loved this book and did not want it to end! I finished the last page of the last chapter turned the page to see thank and was like no! I've not finished reading that yet I don't want it to finish!

I enjoyed the fight scenes they were really descriptive that you can imagine the tendrils and reactions of every character. I think the growth of the relationship between Kay and Ethan is well written and I can understand the turmoil between them both and found myself at times calling either character a name because of their reaction to an incident.

Completely gripping, with thrills, mystery, love and betrayal. Can't wait to read the next one!

Reputation is some serious edge of your seat stuff!
Emma Webster is a Labour MP, who is a victim of online abuse: death threats, rape threats, threats of acid attacks, trolling and just general online unpleasantness. It’s a big change from her life as a teacher, but she decides that she wants to serve the people of her constituency.

But all does not go as she would like it to, and the reputation that she fought so hard for, begins to fall apart.

This is a tense courtroom drama, which left me wondering if Emma was a reliable narrator or not. Put in the same situation, I would have had a very similar reaction - Emma wants to protect her daughter from all harm - as well as her own reputation.

This was such a tense, suspenseful read on The Pigeonhole, which had me guessing right up to the very last page (I’ll be honest, if I had been reading the book, I would have flicked to the end - it was seriously anxiety-inducing!).
Highly recommended!

The start of a new series by Felicity Heaton and what a start. Apollyon is still faithfully doing his duty and yet wants to be free from 'the fires of hell' and feel the sun on his wings again. Serenity has had a bad break-up from her cheating boyfriend and wants revenge, she wants him to feel as bad as she does. Both her heart and her words call out and Apollyon answers. I've got to say that if I was looking for revenge on an ex in this way then I would certainly hope for someone like Apollyon to drop into my life!

This is only a novella so the storyline is fast-paced so that everything is in place before it finishes. I can see this series being another hit for Felicity Heaton and am looking forward to reading more.

This book starts with a bang... or rather a gunshot as there is a robbery in process at a bank. Throughout the introduction, you find out who Brody is, who he was acting as, what Taylor does in a time of crisis and how she can keep a cool head when needed. All of this is within the first few pages.

I found the concept of Brody's tattoo being the catalyst for the events that followed absolutely brilliant. Although this book moves at a very fast pace (and indeed seems to finish WAAAY too quickly) nothing seems rushed and our two main characters have the time and opportunity to explore their situation and their mutual attraction.

A perfect book to read to while away a few hours - because, believe me, once you start reading this, you won't put it down until you've finished.

Jade is the second book in the Special Operations Command series and follows the men as they work in the 'private sector' and get to pick and choose their jobs. Whilst still worthwhile, some of them, Jade included, miss the more high-risk jobs so when they get the chance to bring down a drugs ring with Cuba connections, they jump at the chance. Of course, things don't run smoothly and they find that Allie, Jaxon's sister, is up to her neck in trouble with a dodgy DA blackmailing her.

This is a high-impact, full-on action book and will leave you breathless. The wit and banter between Allie, Jade, and Jaxon are funny to read, with the relationship between siblings absolutely perfect. A brilliant continuation of the series and I look forward to reading more. Recommended.

This is an enjoyable and entertaining tale told in the present time but with flashbacks to Salem. It is smoothly linked and always done with a reason, not simply gratuitous. With lots of intrigue and suspense to keep you turning the pages, this is a story that is an easy read with plenty of references made to Wicca and the correspondences to various flowers and crystals etc.

I enjoyed this story and didn't find any editing or grammatical errors. I enjoyed the climax of the story although it didn't really come as a surprise. However, I wasn't reading it for the shock value so this in no way detracted from the story for me. It did remind me of 'Charmed' in more ways than one so I would have no hesitation in recommending this to any fans of Charmed or their version of Wicca.

I have very mixed feelings about this book. I gave up reading it twice, but something kept pulling me back. I still can’t work out what the system is that’s so blinding, but I did like how quirky the whole novel was. It’s surreal, everyone in it has some sort of mental health issue, and is muddling their way through a life that they can make no sense of. Honestly, I couldn’t make sense of their lives either.
There are some really quite beautiful descriptive passages of London and Easter Island, and I found myself googling one of the photographic artists that was mentioned and falling down a rabbit hole for a while.
Should this win the international Booker prize? I have no idea, and I wouldn’t want to be the one that had to choose. Am I glad that I read it? I’m still not absolutely sure on that one. It’s left me with more questions than answers, and I don’t know as there even are any answers!

I am a fan of the cover because the bone skull and the little Sailor Moon symbol at the top. Also the intro or dedication to the gremlin girls was inspiring and I hope it encourages all the young girly readers to continue breaking the glass ceilings with bricks or whatevs else they can get their hands on. There are trigger warnings at the beginning of the book warning the reader about the content in her reading which included child abuse and assault.

This read is a grimm retelling story and is very dark and magical. The author, Margaret Owen, based this book on the "The Goose Girl" which I have never heard of or read. This retelling is also a series so there is another book after this one which is the first of the series. I'd also categorize this retelling as LGBTQ+ which I love. I have no idea what Goose Girl is about but the idea of there being a more woke version is AMAZING to me <3<3<3 Bring on the next book please!
