"There’s a whole wave of Latin American fiction that I didn’t encounter until later in life. In high school one reads grand narratives like Don Quixote, and Garcia Marquez was the closest to contemporary we got. This felt like watching the movie Ghost World; there’s something very exciting and fun about the quotidian in it."

"This is the most gripping book I’ve read about the Vietnam War, written by a New York Times journalist who, along with David Halberstam, was one of the best on-the-ground chroniclers of that chapter in our history. And because it focuses on one single, indelible character, it reads like a great novel."

My favourite book of the month has
FrostBlood by Elly Blake Well written and intriguing a new YA that can help me get over my TOG series!
Also King of Khoth by Brenda Trim was pretty good too!

My least favourite I didn’t really have one as they all were good!

My DNFS were high this month I just couldn’t get one with so many and I’m a great believer in not reading something just for the sake of it.

October Reads

So this month I’ve read 23 and DNFd 5! I had a lot of books DNF this month I just don’t see the point in carrying on with a book that doesn’t hold my attention.
The 23 I read were almost all really good reads.

I also love The Wife which was from a box!

I didn’t have a book I disliked that I didn’t DNF

I’m moving house in November so don’t think I’ll get through as many!

So many good reads this month! I’ve loved so many of them!
My absolute favourite was Grace by Leanne Rathbone I found her on TikTok and the first book in her series was just brilliant! Another was a path of Darkness and Runes by another lady I found on TikTok Marnie Norton it was so good!

My worst book was Jacys Lesson it was just a huge let down!

Overall it’s been a fantastic month for books I have so many I’m looking forward to on my tube for September!

My favourite book of the month has
College of shadows by Mark Wells! Well written and intriguing
Also Gods & Monsters was pretty good too!

My least favourite The Hating Game it was just drivel and a very rare one star as I don’t like giving them!

February was such a hard month I just struggled to read much.

My DNFS were high this month I just couldn’t get one with so many and to be honest both The Hating game and the Seven Sisters came so close to DNF!
