I had my reservations, but at the end, Marvel has done it again! This version perfectly supports the MCU. My favorite parts throughout were simply the reality of a teenage boy trying to do what’s right while still being a typical teen.

"This clear-eyed inquiry contrasts the stories we tell ourselves about food with the reality of factory farming. Beautifully written and never proselytizing, Foer’s book is committed to a comprehensive assessment. It fortifies my commitment to veganism as much as anything I’ve encountered."

"I always liked Fellini because he created a reality that was an invention. That’s what always intrigued me about his work. In Amarcord, he conveyed a view of life under the Fascist regime, and only he could tell that story that way."

David Cronenberg’s take on the future of video games is a highly unique and original piece of storytelling and could in some ways be a companion piece to his earlier ‘Videodrome’ tackling similar themes of the body and its relationship with technology. Cronenberg’s script frequently pulls the rug out from under you as he blurs the lines between reality and game. The use of technology born out of reality such as the bone gun and bio ports also means even 20 years later the film hasn’t really dated. A thoroughly entertaining slice of cerebral sci-fi from the master of weird.‬

"Our developed world is bursting with screens and projections pumping out an incessant stream of what’s real, and what’s represented to be real. In this moment when we are witnessing the evolution of virtual reality, I find Baudrillard’s classic work of semiotics especially relevant. It has been hugely influential for me as a basis from which to explore important concepts and ethics around what our relationship with art and meaning will become. In the future, we will increasingly view the world through representations of reality, which will become so realistic that our brains could become completely deceived."

Georgia Thornton is back for a third round on a reality TV show – this time working with her boyfriend Scott to solve a cold case. The castle where this show is set is super spooky, but things get very scary when Georgia finds a dead body in the empty swimming pool. Even weirder, the victim drowned. What’s going on?

Between the reality TV show and the case, there is always something happening, although I did feel the other happenings overwhelmed the main mystery a bit at times. Still, the mystery builds to a logical conclusion. The author does a great job of helping us keep all the characters straight while growing Georgia, Scott, and some of the other series regulars. And the reality TV setting is just lots of fun.

NOTE: I received a copy of this book.

"It was one of the most intense ways of getting into the adult world and I saw it when I was really young. I couldn’t believe that there were stories that were so close to reality. It felt like that, it felt very real."
