"I love Chinatown. Great movie, I mean, it just is what it is. Unbelievable, just a classic. I just really respond to that movie. It’s real; it has this heightened reality about it. Very powerful. It’s something that sticks out in my head. Seeing it, and watching it again and again, then seeing it as an adult. Something I can continue to watch through the years and be inspired by, and get lost in, and just forget about everything and say, “I just had a movie experience.”"

Incredibly well written book proving Rowling's giftedness and diversity.

A brutal social commentary illustrating the complex issues surrounding class and problems that society doesn't know how to deal with. It reveals the selfish way humans attempt to shroud themselves protectively in ignorance, clinging to the pleasantries we manufacture in pretence that poverty, suffering and social malaise are not only a stones throw away.

Expect to be taken out of your comfort zone and confronted with stark reality exposing attitudes and prejudices within society and ourselves.

"This was the first book I read and properly analyzed at university. It struck me as the first book I’d read that got inside people’s heads. A character, Jacob, is presented to us via the impressions of others, showing just how subjective is our version of reality. I was astonished by it, and reading it was a lightbulb moment for me; it was a revelation that other people were thinking and feeling all this stuff all the time. I’d thought it was just me."
