The only negative things I have it's that I don't like painting the models/characters, so I wish they came painted (though I know some people really enjoy the painting process). Also, the gameplay can get old, but that's probably because my family couldn't put it down for the first week we had it, so many games were played.
Overall this is a great game that will stay in our family (and away from donating during spring cleaning)!

Cyn Armistead (14 KP) rated Opening Up: A Guide to Creating and Sustaining Open Relationships in Books

None of the information is new to me, exactly, but it is put together very well. The sections on issues to consider/issues that might arise in each style of responsible non-monogamy were especially appreciated. I was disappointed that there isn't a section in her web site for readers, but perhaps the print copy has reproducible checklists.
The chapter on STIs was very good, although I think that a list of specific STIs for which non-monogamous people should request testing would have been helpful.
In any case, I do recommend this book. It's replacing Love Without Limits as my go-to recommendation for new polyfolk to read.

This book sounded interesting when I first read the synopsis via goodreads, but once I started reading, I had so much trouble getting through it. The main idea of the book is great, I just think that the spelling and grammatical errors took so much away from the story. Also, I noticed that there were several spots within the book that the author meant to reference Alex and she wrote Ryan instead, and I had to go back and re-read several sections and make sure I understood what was going on.

Awix (3310 KP) rated Star Wars: Gadgets and Gear in Tabletop Games
Nov 8, 2019
The downside of this is that the book is probably of rather less interest to the non-gaming Star Wars fan, but it is a boon for those of us who don't want to risk a hernia carrying around the 20 or so books where this information originally appeared. Some interesting new stuff, too, especially the 'iconic equipment' entries, although these are oddly phrased - many references to 'the wearer of Darth Vader's armour' rather than just 'Darth Vader', as if anyone's going to steal that suit. Most bonkers new addition is 'Lando Calrissian's Cape Armoire', a post-Solo invention which allows you to randomly generate what cape he's wearing and its special properties. Disappointingly, this isn't completely comprehensive, and the lack of summary tables for easy comparison and reference is also a shame. But still pretty much an essential purchase for anyone who actually plays this game.
