Couldn't put it down!
This book is amazing! A diverse set of twenty somethings embark on a great adventure. There's espionage, political savvy, action, and magic! The characters are so relatable!
Not only does Caruso provide intriguing plots and clever dialogue but the themes she explores are thought provoking and deep.
I recommend this novel for anyone and everyone!

Rachel P (2 KP) rated The Examined Life: How We Lose and Find Ourselves in Books

I loved loved loved this book! Wow!
I listened to the audiobook continuously from start to finish with barely any breaks! Each chapter examines a different patient and/or situation Stephen Grosz has seen as a practicing psychoanalyst. Some stories are relatable, some are insightful, and some are sad. I can't wait to recommend this book to everyone I know!

Gisell Middleton (189 KP) rated The Late Show (Renée Ballard, #1; Harry Bosch Universe, #29) in Books
Jul 12, 2018
I loved Michael Connelly's new novel. Renee Ballard is an interesting, dynamic and multi-dimensional character who is likable and relatable. The Late Show is heavy in police jargon and procedure, much more than in Connelly's Bosch books but he does a great job of explaining without losing fluidity or storyline. I can't wait to see what comes next for Detective Ballard!

Perfect mood lifting holiday read
I had this on my e-reader for holiday reading and it was perfect. Laugh out loud funny. Easy to read. Believable characters and plot. You can see the ending coming, but it did not disappoint. Recommend it as a good summer read.

Bostonian916 (449 KP) rated Young Ones (2014) in Movies

One of the primary reasons for my rating here is my adoration of the cast. The story itself isn't unique, though some elements are. Michael Shannon delivers a stirring performance that actually makes you empathetic to his sordid actions. Nicholas Hoult delivers a dark performance that seems nearly relatable at times. Slight Mad Max (Mel Gibson version) vibe to the whole thing.
