I have read a lot of books in my time- a LOT- and have never read anything quite like this one. The premise of it is a fear of many: to be stranded on an island. That fear goes even deeper for the characters in this book because with no hope for rescue, they continued to live their lives as best as they could. When, much to their surprise, they are saved from their island home they weave a web of lies that could break all of their loved ones. The characters are relatable in their flaws and with each secret revealed you feel closer to them. You'll get sucked into this book and when it finally spits you out you'll feel like you'd been right there with them.

I first read this book and most of the series years ago before it became popular. Before long I was hooked and had binge read all the available books!!
The book follows Talia as she graduates school and lands her dream job. Throughout the story you learn more about the Talented and the world they live in, from Talia’s perspective.
I found Talia to be a very relatable character, particularly as she has a temper which often gets her in trouble. It was also very easy to empathise with Talia and the struggles she faced in the book.
The book is part of a series so there are still many unanswered questions by the end.
I would definitely recommend this book series especially if you like dystopian books.

Review
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this book and how relatable these characters were. I felt joy, sadness, and heartbreak for Essie. I often times felt like I was watching a real reality show think ___ kids and counting from TLC. I loved how much it also related to thinks that are news now. Womens rights and violence against women. For being a book about a religious family that didn't play much into the book except to be part of various locations or one of parts of the story. I really loved how the book came to be a 180 turn around and how Essie seemed to pull the strings by guiding things to happen but not forceful she knew one to step back and wait.

Beautiful
I absolutely loved I Have Lost my Way by Gayle Forman. This was a beautifully written contemporary novel that I will be reading over and over again. The cover is simple and beautiful and once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. This is a heartbreaking story of three very different people who have lost their way in life in different ways. They meet very unexpectedly and at just the right moment to help each other when they need it most. The characters find hope in the darkness and help one another find their way again. I loved the end of the story, it was wrapped up wonderfully for me, not with a perfect pretty bow, but with a very real, relatable ending. I would definitely recommend this novel.

Bong Mines Entertainment (15 KP) rated Bad - Single by Shy Keller in Music
Jun 18, 2019
Sky Keller is a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. Not too long ago, she released an attractive pop tune, entitled, “Bad”, produced by Danny Garibay.
“‘Bad’ is a song about loose ends. It’s about dealing with the power trips and struggles of attainable love when you want what’s not good for you.”
‘Bad’ tells an interesting tale of a young woman who is in a troubled relationship with her significant other.
Apparently, she feels uncomfortable because of his uncertainty about their status as a couple, and that makes her nervous.
Also, she feels guilty for having to wait this long to find out that he’s such an indecisive person.
‘Bad’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and robust instrumentation flavored with an electro-pop aroma.

As a childrens story book, you have certain expectations, but Tazhibis art transcends mine. The cover is bright and inviting, and the illustration is relatable. Many childrens books are block colours, whereas Tazhibis has an innocent, crayon-like quality to it.
The overall style of the page does put me in mind of British Gas sphere worlds they have in the adverts, as Tazhibis rolling hills are quite literally rolling beside each other. Because screw gravity right? The choice makes it cute, and the crayon style colouring makes it appear like something a child could achieve. Dont take that the wrong way, the detail, shading and proportions are that of a very skilled hand, but, on looking at it, a child would be inspired.

Anne (15117 KP) rated The Shadow Queen (Ravenspire, #1) in Books

I've always strongly disliked Snow White, but Shadow Queen I like a lot - it's so much better than Snow White!
Also I love C.J. Redwine’s books - they're awesome! I love The Traitor Prince - it might be my favorite of her books so far. I'm reading The Wish Granter now after this book.
I love Lorelai, she's so much more relatable and awesome and Irina is even more understandable even though she is detestable and disgusting with her evil wickedness.
And I love Kol and his little group of friends and Kol and Lorelai together complement each other.
I am gaining a new level of appreciation and interest in the fairy tales because of these great retellings.
If you haven't checked this book out or any of these by C.J. Red wine, you should.

Hot!
The book in the series following the delectably naughty NHL team follows the dark and mysterious Randy (yes that’s right, his name is Randy, Randy Balls) and Lily the figure skater who didn’t quite hit if off when they met in #2.
Join them as they “just” have fun which becomes more...
I am not sure why I liked this one more than the last, but feel that perhaps the characters in this one are more relatable, and it’s massively heavy with intense energy! You can almost feel the longing between these two characters in the way its worded and their actions throughout! By the end I was almost ready to beg Randy (and Helena if it hadn’t of happened) for a happy ending between the two!
