after reading some mixed reviews, I thought id give it a go. the book is full of steamy scenes. the author made the book fun, sexy with a very interesting plot line. the relationship between the characters moves from lust to love throughout the book. the story line is believable and very realistic which made this book a easy read. looking forward to many more books from this author

Wonderful thematic backdrop. Detailed, immersive gameplay. Filled with life. Fantastic resource-management and role-selection elements. Tons of plastic ships. Great artwork. (0 more)
Really, really long (makes it hard to play as often as I'd like). Some clunky rules. Oh, and there are a lot of rules. (0 more)

Tales From The Backseat by The Academic
Tales From The Backseat by The Academic
2018 | Alternative, Indie, Rock
A solid debut packed with indie rock thrills...
The debut album from Irish four-piece The Academic is brimming with energy and potential. The band, singer Craig Fitzgerald, drummer Dean Gavin, and brothers Matt and Stephen Murtagh, guitar and bass respectively, have been building up a following across the Irish Sea since forming as teenagers in 2013.

Ok seems I missed something here?? This film has great reviews but I found it very slow and the fights are far to quick, barely fights at all. I don't know of the other Zatoichi films this was inspired by but this felt like a film made 30 years ago. Some of the scenes become very boring and repetitive along with minimal dialogue. The end fight is good but it's a long slow numb build up to it!

I thought it was quite average given the hype.

What to say about this one?

I hate to post bad reviews, but I really didn't like this one much! There are too many characters! It got very hard to keep track of who is loyal to who, who is sleeping with who...etc...

I think the author tried to introduce every character & species in the first book of the series and overloaded it a bit!

2 stars...I may read the second one...I don't know yet!

The fact that Kermode and Mayo have been working together for years clearly shows, and the chemistry between them produces some natural-feeling, funny banter and plenty of in-jokes.

Kermode gives fair reviews, not being patronising about children's films and admitting when he has wrongly assumed a film will be bad.

Due to circumstances I am not a regular cinema-goer, but I listen regularly to the Wittertainment podcast just for the chuckles it gives.

I received a copy of The Girl the Sea Gave back from Wednesday Books through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. It's the second in the series but I honestly didn't feel I missed anything by not reading the first one.

I loved the short flashback to Halvard and Tova's pasts.

I saw in some reviews that people thought there was too much romance but honestly I didn't get that at all.

This seems to be a real love it or hate it film going by other reviews! Personally I quite enjoyed it and found it a good mix of action and comedy, with a cool car to boot! I do like Seth Rogen's other films and find him funny. There is plenty of fun to be had here along with some cool effects. You'll like it so long as you realise it's more of a comedy than an action film.
