The trailer attracted me to see this a bit like the pretty blue lights in the film, despite the bad reviews. It was far from terrible, but I understand why most people didn't like it. I was hoping for something of a modern take on Independence day. In truth this only feels like one long drawn out segment of an alien invasion film. The SFX are pretty darn good, the cast was ok although hard to picture Donald Faison in anything but Scrubs. Then it ended abruptly in a rather strange way?! Let's hope the sequel feels more like a whole film.

I didn't know much about this film before I saw it but heard critics and fans a like giving great reviews about it. A father and former part of the military police goes in search of his son who has gone AWOL after returning home from Iraq.
This is a great film, with a very good cast giving great performances especially Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron. It touches on quite a few political views about the army and war in Iraq and the effects it can have. A truly moving film based on true events.

After reading the amazing reviews this movie was getting, I had to see this. Sadly, I was left checking my watch, waiting for something to happen. Half this movie could have been cut and it wouldn't affect the pacing or the plot. There is a spooky atmosphere towards the end but not enough to chill me. This is the third movie but A24 studios I've seen and all suffer from the same fault. The only positive point i can make is the set design - comparing it/making it look like the miniatures that frequent the movie

I'll keep this short and sweet otherwise I will be repeating everything I've pointed out in other reviews of this series.
I really enjoyed this, the trials and tribulations, the reality of life on the move and the beginning of their schooling was thoroughly enjoyable to read. The prose appears to develop as Laura gets older, and that is lovely. The introduction of newer characters like Nellie and Christy really help liven up the story and bring a breath of fresh air into the family dynamic.
Overall it progresses nicely, picks up right where they left off and is lovely :)

Clint Eastwood's latest one is having a somewhat polarizing effect for a lot of people. I liked it, and was entertained for the most part. Bradley Cooper and Michael Pena were drastically underused, and I had forgotten they were in the movie at times.
The film started out slow for me, and honestly, the part at the beginning could have been cut down considerably, and it still would have been cohesive.
I know one of the critic reviews I read complained about the non-PC situations, and, I guess if that bothers you, you probably wouldn't like the film in general.

I don't have the first 2 reviews, but I do have the review for the third book. Oh... and the rating is just the average of all 3 books.

Back to the Front
I've been waiting to see this for a while, especially after seeing a slight behind the scenes trailer showing the great lengths they went to get continuous shots. After all the awards and great reviews expectations were high. I wasn't disappointed.
It's an immersive, gripping drama that will make you feel like you are there, taking part in the mission against the odds. It's not quite one long take but you'll barely notice. It's like a new cinema experience and an awesome one at that. Make sure you see it on the big screen.

Top bitesize TV series
Finally got round to watching this after hearing many good reviews. A very short series of 6 episodes and only 25 minute long episodes. It follows the life of a 30 year old dealing with life, relationships, family, love, grief and sex. It's very funny with a sharp, witty script. It's similar to @Peep Show - Season 1 in some ways, breaking the 4th wall talking to the viewer. Also similar tone but this time from a female perspective. If you haven't seen it yet check it out!
