Kevin Phillipson (9889 KP) rated The Witcher in TV
Feb 27, 2020
Only watched the first three episodes and Im already booked when I started watching the first episode I had been playing Witcher 3 wild Hunt already and the show reminds me alot of the game from geralt to triss and yennifer. At first I wasn't sure about Henry cavill as geralt of rivia because he's superman but he has the role down to a tee from his look his voice just perfect. Anyway gonna keep watching the remaing five episodes to see where the show goes and also keep playing Witcher 3

Sweet but thin storyline
Nikesh Shukla's latest literary escapade is sweet, exploring familial ties and how fate plays a role in this family. The narrators include terminal cancer patient Neha, Kenyan-born father Mukesh, and hapless comedian brother Rakesh, each playing a role in their so-called pre-determined destinies.
The writing is witty and it's always wonderful to hear voices that represent BAME communities in modern Britain. But unfortunately it is a little thin in plot and storyline. It is a host of voices speaking about their perspectives and intricately joining together. An easy read.

David McK (3162 KP) rated the PlayStation 3 version of Batman - The Telltale Series in Video Games

I'm... Batman!
Telltales take on the Caped Crusader, not particularly tied to any previous work starring the same, in which the player takes on the dual role of Batman and Bruce Wayne.
And I do mean the dual role: you spend just as much time in this one playing as ol' Brucie as you do his alter ego.
Set early in Batman's career, and takes roughly until episode 3 (of 5) to really get going, IMO, with the plot also bringing in several familiar characters from Batman's rogues gallery alongside one I'd never even heard of before!

I had high Hope's for this film but was left feeling disappointed, for me Harley Quinn was sexed up way to much, would rather had seen her in her full jester look. I will say however that I enjoyed will Smith as deadshot, for once a film with him in it as not the main role or hero is refreshing. I loved the role of diablo and think the actor playing him was great but just like every other film the actor I always like dies. In my opinon Jared Leto's joker was amazing and I think cutting most of his scenes was the worst thing they could have done as now the joker seems a lesser role and makes leto seem like his not up to the role when I feel he played it the best. (Sorry Ledger fans but it is MY OPINON)

Great role playing elements (3 more)
Brilliant story
Twists and turns
Laid the groundwork for titles like Cyberpunk 2077
One of my favourites
An excellent game, which have you loads of options about how to play the game... Stealth, hacking or just balls-out action.
Lots of twists, turns and conspiracies, and one of the earliest games that gave you the option for multiple endings based on your choices.

David McK (3162 KP) rated The Scorpion King (2002) in Movies
Nov 30, 2020 (Updated Jan 8, 2023)
This, I believe, was Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson breakout role, after his what-amounts-to extended cameo in 2001's 'The Mummy Returns', ostensibly playing the same character.
Although you would barely know it: his background here is markedly different than that earlier film.
The film itself is pretty much pure sword and sorcery hookum: think, say, something like Conan the Destroyer and you're probably on the right lines!

An exciting read from start to finish
The basis of this book as an immersion into a Virtual Reality computer game that takes you back to 80's computer games and tabletop role playing. It takes you on a journey that mixes virtual reality with a contest of a lifetime, whilst keeping a grounding in good old fashioned reality. It is one of those rare books that is worth a re-read
