I loved the friendships that were formed during the course of the book, and yes, the romance too. And I absolutely adored the romance. But the focus was definitely more on the platonic friendships, which I appreciated.

Yes, a proper romance. A great romance that's clean! Marianne wants to see more of life rather than what she's gone through in the past year after losing her mother and her father needing time away. An invitation to Edenbrooke to be with her twin sister and the family of Edenbrooke brings more than expected including a dashing young man.

This was not what the blurb lead me to believe. Instead of a hockey romance this is about bullying, harrassment, and standing up for what is right. So just know that there is some darkness in here that isn't shown in the blurb.
If you enjoy a deep story with a side of romance then this might just be the book for you.

Many people have talked badly about Mass Effect Andromeda, but in my opinion, the facial expressions in Horizon are not very good either. The idea that Aloy was supposed to romance characters and then didn't completely remove everything is a bit odd. You can tell when there should have been a romance option, but it's not in the dialogue

I went through this book in about three days. It is a super cute, clean (with reference to sex, but nothing raunchy), and cat-centric romance. The writing is simple and fun, and the romance isn't forced. Both main characters have pets, including the best feline wingman in (fictional) existence. If you need a quick, fun read, this is a great choice.

The characters in this book are really well developed and the chemistry between Cassidy and Julia is good. Lentzski also has some really good secondary characters which help develop and drive the mystery element in the plot. This is not just a romance but more of a mystery story with romance involved. I will be reading the sequel andmore by this author.

I am not a big romance novel reader, especially Harlequin Romance, but this story was good. The inspiration series was not that bad. I liked the story a lot. Seemed more real, seemed like the guy was respectful of woman and treated them with respect and kindness instead of dragging them off to who knows where and take advantage of them.

One thing I can say for this: the author seemed to know what she was talking about with this be it the lingo or the action. In truth I was more into the action elements than the romance. And that is why it's only getting three star, because I'm a romance reader and it didn't hold my attention that much.

So romance isn't my favorite genre, but with all the hype configured I needed to read Janen Austen at least once in a lifetime. I was suprised I enjoyed it.
Some of the language made reading confusing but once you catch on it's easier than you think. For people who are meh about romance this is a good starting point.

"For when you need a ghost-story romance I just...fell in love with this book. It’s a historical romance set around the restoration of a haunted house with some serious Edith Wharton vibes. But it’s the characters that got me. Our unfairly maligned heroine and our absentminded professor hero are people you can’t help but adore—and root for."
