On the backdrop of the construction of the Eiffel Tower, Beatrice Colin builds a story that is perfect for those who like some romance with their historical fiction. You can read more about this novel in my review here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2016/11/13/the-structures-of-love/

ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I would be a liar if I said I didnt have a soft spot for firefighters. As cliche as it sounds, its a trope I typically enjoy. Her Sexy Challenge did not disappoint. Humourous, hot, and a couple with tons of chemistry, this novel as an enjoyable read the contemporary romance lovers wont want to pass up. A well rounded novel, I am already looking forward to more from this series.

Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated The Book Thief in Books

This novel was recommended to me by an old high school friend. This is definitely not my typical book. I like the fast paced suspense/romance and I tend to stick with those novels. I'm glad that I picked up this novel.
This novel was very interesting. It's a collection of short stories narrated by death. It follow the life of a young German girl during the time of world war 2. It's told in a different way by having "Death" as the narrator.
This was a pretty quick read. It makes you think too. It's one of those novels that will make you think about the depravity of human beings and give you some hope along side of it.
All in all, it was a good novel that deals with World War II.

The Chocolate Lady (94 KP) rated Meet Me in Monaco in Books

Woohoo! This is my 300th book review! See what I thought of this historical, biographical, women's fiction novel that is being touted as a "summer read" (because of the romance aspect) but I call it "Heaven Scent" (and no, that's not a misspelling) on my blog now! https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2019/07/12/heaven-scent/

Erika Kehlet (21 KP) rated Cold Fire in Books
Feb 19, 2018
I was expecting some blood, gore, violence, and monsters (as you would expect from a novel written by a master of horror) and it was all there, but this isn't strictly a horror novel. It was more of an intriguing paranormal thriller, combined with romance and plenty of drama. The suspense kept me hooked and the believable characters left me thinking about them long after I finished reading the story. I haven't read many Koontz novels, but will definitely be reading more after this one.

AT (1676 KP) rated The Flatshare in Books
Sep 19, 2019
I loved The Flatshare. It's a perfect light, romantic, beach-read type of novel. I hadn't read a full-length novel in awhile, so I wanted something fun and generally easy to get into. The Flatshare was a great pick. It is a romance, but not an overly sweetsy, ridiculous one. I didn't get any cavities from it. Lol The way it was written made the story flow smoothly and quickly, but it still seemed like I was reading something that had some substance. I enjoyed it!

ArecRain (8 KP) rated Crimson Sky (Dark Sky, #1) in Books
Jan 18, 2018
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first novel I have read from Amy Braun, but it is certainly not the last. While I appreciate other genres beyond romance and erotica, it has to really be something to grab my attention. Crimson Sky had me from page one. Not only did it blow me away, I became obsessed, having to know what happened next and not being satisfied until I finished the novel.
Crimson Sky is an action packed novel that is hard to describe. Braun is such a talented writer, she easily incorporates multiple genres into one. It can be classified as steampunk, horror, action, romance, and dystopian all in one. I appreciate that Braun could easily show so many themes without having to shove it down our throats. She does such a good job of showing, there is no need for telling.
This novel is an intense roller coaster ride that begins from the very first page. Filled with complex realistic characters in a terrifying world, Braun weaves a story filled with twists and personal growth that keeps you hooked until the very end. Its been a long time since I have been this obsessed with a novel that didnt qualify as erotic. Even now, I am stuck in literary limbo because nothing seems to match up to the intense emotions this novel pulled from me. I cant wait to read more.
