"Okay the next one, and it’s a big one, is The Goonies. I think it’s almost self-explanatory. I remember seeing The Goonies as a kid and I think it’s that sense of — it is almost like a Scooby-Doo-esque adventure become real, and I think that’s what made it so appealing to me as a kid. It wasn’t that it was raucous and loud, it was that these kids were incredibly relatable. They were real kids. They came in all shapes and sizes, they were incredibly flawed, and very funny. They were rude, they bickered; they just felt so real, and they were a lot of fun because of that. So yeah, The Goonies — huge influence."

I re-read this book again - Read in October, again in February - it was still as good as it was then. Though I physically read a copy this time instead of listening to the audio - and I again still thought Blue was someone else the whole book, same lines as Simon in the end - oh how cute cute cute! I cant wait for this movie!!!!!!

I adored this book. I listened to the audio and I loved it! The whole story was great, it evidences high school completely I think. How afraid people are, how afraid they shouldnt be. How rude people are. I think Becky's writing is beautiful and flows amazingly. I can't wait to read more of her books!

Brilliant
I appear to be having a bit of a run on Joe Dante films at the moment, but it would be rude not to watch Gremlins over Christmas.

This film is so much fun from start to finish. It's everything you'd want and more from a Christmas horror film - laughs, some festive christmas spirit and a whole host of gremlin gore and wacky deaths. Considering this was made in 1984 the special effects with the Gremlins are surprisingly impressive and very inventive. The scenarios that they get themselves into are hilarious. Admittedly considering it's now 35 years old there are parts that look a little dated, but overall this is such a brilliant and entertaining film and definitely a classic at Christmas.

Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler's chemistry (1 more)
It's such a random storyline it stands out in a competitive film world
Adam Sandler's voice can drive me mad a bit in this. (1 more)
It has some seriously weird plotlines... if you have or will see it you'll know what I mean
Depends on your sense of humour
So this film came up on my suggested films on Netflix and as I love Andy samberg and Adam Sandler, I gave it a go.
Some bits are hysterically funny. Some bits are crude and VERY cringey. It depends on your sense of humour it really does, it's a very rude humoured film. I found it funny, I'd recommend it for those that aren't of a nervous disposition lol.

Cruel pranks, eye rolling quotes, & unlikable characters
I read this book as part of the Read Me Romance Podcast.

Well, this book probably is going to have the title of the worst book I read in 2019. I tend to enjoy the enemies to lovers trope in the romance genre because it usually means that there is a lot of banter between the characters. Banter is my weakness, & I LOVE when character banter and flirt. Unfortunately, this book was not something I could get behind. I'm honestly surprised I finished it and didn't DNF it.

The characters were not likable. Both of them were vindictive & rude to each other. There was nothing "cute" about their actions.

If you like cruel pranks, eye-rolling quotes, and unlikeable characters, then this book is for you.

Geekerella is such an adorable and cute read featuring everything fandom related. It’s a retelling of Cinderella with a happily ever after and set at a convention, which really makes the inner fangirl in me sigh happily. The first novel in Ashley Posten’s Once Upon a Con series is a quick and light read for those who enjoy cute romances with fandom.

Side note: my local library removed this from the Hoopla catalog when I tried renewing it back in June and I may or may not have cried a little inside. I had to put this on my TBR again and start it over, rude much??? I still appreciate all they’ve done, though. (Other than the fact I more than likely lost my soul during my childhood within the shelves.)
