Excellent story

Loved this so much, I was toe tapping and singing the whole way through. I don't think many people can say they aren't a fan on Queen, they appealed to the masses.

This film is progressive and done well despite being dramatised. It ended in a good place.

The character/people development was very good and it was nice to see an insight into the band behind the legend.

Would highly recommend, although a sad ending it lifted my spirits.

I thought this book was really cleverly written. It is a challenging read - challenging because it looks things in the eye which most of us shy away from. It breaks down preconceived ideas, prejudice and assumptions.

It is grim at times, sad, heartbreaking but ultimately uplifting. I thought the characterisation was amazing. The narrative style skillfully portrays a clever woman trapped inside the body of somebody who has limited ability to communicate.

The love story was movingly beautiful but gritty and not over sentimental.

Fabulous debut!

"One of my all-time favorite films. I actually woohoo-ed out loud when I saw the announcement of a Criterion release of it! Hal Ashby was one of the greatest American filmmakers of the seventies, and his death was such a loss for the film community. It’s sad to think of what else he could’ve made. The use of Cat Stevens’s music in this film is a great example of a musician’s music forever being linked to a particular film and utilized so effectively."

I am sad to say that I couldn't get into this at all and found my mind wandering to other things. I have read Your Closest Friend by Karen Perry and enjoyed it but this one just didn't do it for me unfortunately, however it won't put me off reading more from these authors. Not sure why it didn't grab me but sometimes it just doesn't happen.

Thank you to Penguin Michael Joseph and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest, unbiased and unedited review.

"Kiarostami has spooky power. The wind, the dust, passersby, stray sounds, even your attention—they all slow down and fall into his rhythm. He seems able to control everything inside and outside the frame, and it’s all poetry. Taste of Cherry was my introduction to him. It’s a very sad and beautiful film about life via death. I’ll think about the coda for a long time. I’m also a big fan of The Wind Will Carry Us, Where Is the Friend’s Home?, and Close-up."

"This book led me to all of her others and for that I am forever grateful. Her stories are cruel and sad and funny and very hard to put down. Highsmith has a very original perspective on the world—and it's not pretty. Her work is filled with fascinating sociopaths and lonely eccentrics, regular people like us revealing themselves to be sick or tortured in a variety of ways. She kind of feels like a sociologist; one who draws deeply dark and creepy conclusions."

"This is such a simple and funny movie that tells what is at its core a very sad story about a young woman trapped in Communist Czechoslovakia. The actors and faces that Milos Forman cast in all the roles are fantastic and real, and the young piano player’s tired and fed-up parents are two of the funniest, most subtle characters I’ve ever seen in a movie. This is one of my favorite movies to turn people on to, since very few people have ever seen it."

Wow.

I have adored this series since the first book. So much happens. Love. Friendship. Death. So much time passes.

I loved all the Nephilim, all for different reasons, and I have a feeling this story will stay with me for a while.

A classic tale of good versus evil with a brilliant plot and characters. I loved the ending, some bits were sad and others were lovely. The romance was uplifting.

If you haven't read this series yet, then I definitely recommend you do.

AMAZING!

To start off I love the cover it's very pretty. Ava's Nana dying was very sad and how she was late to recieve her blessing and it sent out to someone else. How Ava's mom left her when she was younger was sad. I don't understand how people can do this to their own kid.

Quote "Nana spoke your blessing at exactly 8:51." Ava not knowing her blessing is sad.
Quote "Meteors, Stars, 8:51. Collision. And hummingbird." Her grandma said this when Ava was in the accident making her late for her blessing which lead me to think something was up when this happened. I'm including this because it's important part of this story. It had me hooked hooked at this part.

The day following her grandmas death especially her funeral must have been hard. It gave me flash backs to my grandmas funeral. When her sister said she's the family serial dater though it lightened up the mood.

Ava seeing her Nana's ghost was scary at first and what her fate might be if they don't get Ava's blessing back. Her loosing her memory over this mistake is just not ok.

In the story they go after the person who accidentally got the blessing and have to get it back by August 16th on the evening of a meteor shower or Nana looses her memories and the girls can no longer pass blessings onto their daughters. I personally think the guy who she got into accident with is the one. But you'll need to read to find out.

This book was very intense, interesting and emotional. I loved the pace of it. I definitely recommend this one I give it a 4.5/5 stars and I'd definitely reread.

Do I reccomend? 100% yes
