MYTHICAL CREATURE EVOLVED (0 more)
AMAZING horror novella that introduces Blood of the Ysir saga.
In this book "Wendigo" is a term used by the indigenous inhabitants for demonic creatures who eat human flesh and are always ravenous. In other folklore the wendigo nature is a curse visited as a punishment on human cannibals when they first taste human flesh.
In this fictional world that we enter with Erik,
the curse is triggered by the same crime, but there are genetic requirements and the cursed can transform into powerful werebeasts. At one time, these creatures were treated as gods and fed by their neighbors, but the native peoples abandoned this practice and the creatures, who had human intelligence, shape shifting powers and massive strength and could not be killed, turned in anger to preying extensively on humans.
This book is well worth the read as a standalone novella if you prefer but if like me it snags from the beginning and you to continue following the journey so remember to check out the Blood of the Ysir saga to continue on the path. Highly anxious for the third in series now!!

I have read a few books by Harry Manners and have enjoyed them all but The Ruin Saga just leaves me wanting more. I would compare it to S.M. Stirling's Change books which are some of my favorite. Mr. Manners does such a good job with character development that you feel that you actually know these people an are invested in what happens to them. Brink continues the story that was left off in Ruin and is just as good if not better. My only gripe is that I have to wait for more.

The Runelords Spoiler Free Review
If you liked The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan you will like this series. This is the first book in The Runelords Saga. It's a very good sword and sorcery high fantasy series with multiple perspectives and a unique magic system. This first book introduces and starts building the characters and world well and the action is just beginning. I have a feeling things are going to get rough through the rest of these books. Deffinately a highly recommended book in my opinion.

Another Marvel movie
Overall I thought it was a good movie. Yes the overtones of feminism can be inferred in this movie but if you strip it away to the nuts and bolts, it's another saga that adds to the massive MCU. Taking place in 1995 it adds more to the lore of SHIELD Nick Fury and the start of Earths place in the galactic universe. I highly recommend it with the suggestion to leave any politicalness (in either direction) behind in order to enjoy this really good movie.

Book one of the Riftwar Saga is a definite must read. I've seen Raymond Feist's books on the shelf for years and only now decided to read one. This and the second, Magician Master ,were originally written as one book. It tells the story of Pug, who rises from an orphan to become one of the most powerful magicians in any kingdom. Feist writes beautifully , making the reader forget the real world and become fully immersed in theirs. Definite addition to anyone's list that appreciates an epic fantasy story.
