Adequate viewing
fancied a comedy, thought this might be okay to pass the time, it wasn't brilliant and I think that's the script more than the acting. There was a few laugh out loud moments but not the best film I've seen this year but equally seen worse. This was an average review of a bang average film!

Too long, cliche
I really like the idea of the story but disliked the execution. Very cliche, you can guess the outcome once you begin to understand the story. The script is terrible, has anyone ever heard of a non verbal cue?

The relationships were good in the end.

"For me, this is an almost perfect film. It is worth seeing for John Bryan’s sets alone, a master class on how to use texture and film architecture to create the illusion of depth and atmosphere. The script and acting are very fine, but Alec Guinness’s famous or infamous portrayal of Fagin is probably his best performance on-screen."

"A great collaboration between Wim Wenders and Sam Shepard. I love Robby Müller’s cinematography. They started the film with only part of a shooting script and then it evolved from the journey, the landscapes, and the shooting itself. That’s part of the reason the film is so special—it wasn’t all planned out ahead of time."

"Quick cheat again. I could easily have listed Le cercle rouge, Army of Shadows, Le doulos and Le deuxieme souffle, which are all in the Criterion collection. Melville is probably my favorite director and was a huge influence on the script of Drive. The cinema of process and silent taciturn heroes whose tough-guy exteriors hide lonely, fragile hearts."

The 'Land of Hope & Glory' Genuinely
One of my favourite films of all time. Perfect mix of action and British humour. The good guys win, the bad guys get their comeuppance in the best ways possible and the script is peppered with stunning one-liners and visual humour. I can watch this again and again - love it!

The last novel of author Paul Torday is practically a script for the TV series "Criminal Minds" but with an unusual twist. (What a shame we won't have any more of his books in the future.) Read my review of this fascinating crime fiction novel here https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2014/02/13/a-glimmer-to-find-what-was-lost/

Just watched and at some point probably watch the TV version to compare both anyway for a comedy about vampires living in a house in New Zealand is probably one if the funniest films I've seen in awhile excellent script good acting can't find any faults at all now the tv version will be just as good
