"“I don’t know what it is about it, but I just love Whoopi Goldberg. She’s amazing – every role that she does, she’s so underestimated and underrated. When she’s given a script she always goes through as a black woman and asks for things to be changed if they’re not accurate to life. And I love the idea of nuns running around and going wild.”"

The Terminator (1984)
The Terminator (1984)
1984 | Action, Sci-Fi

"Terminator was a real seminal piece. In fact, I read the script before [James Cameron] shot the movie. I was asking around, “Anybody read any great scripts?” I read the script — it’s a game changer. All of these films, I feel like they’re real game changers; there are films prior to these movies, and there are films after. It’s like you’ve opened up a Pandora’s Box, and the filmmaking world can never be the same — the language is different, the grammar is different. I think Jim did that in Terminator. I think he really changed the playing field. And so I read the script, and I was like, “I can’t wait to see it!” I didn’t know him, so I didn’t go and watch the shooting, but of course when it came out…the only way you can describe it is as a game changer. You have to change your rules! Again, not in any particular order, but Kurosawa has to be in there [among my favorite films and filmmakers]. Ran, Kagemusha, Dersu Uzala… and then Fassbinder‘s In a Year of 13 Moons, one of the most magnificent love stories ever made. Ozu. Pabst, who gave us the opportunity to move from one location to another and fuse it together. Anyway, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it."

In the battle between brains and brawn, it's nice to watch brains come out on top in the looks department! Although the social ineptness of highly intelligent people is portrayed, it's refreshing to see the journey each character makes throughout each season. The storylines aren't as far-fetched as some may perceive, with the fantastic Kathy Reichs giving her anthropological insight to the script.

A Fresh Thrill
An exciting horror movie that actually feels fresh. The tension is built well by the director and the score compliments the whole thing well. It's not the best script in Hollywood and is a bit ridiculous in places, but it's a fun thriller that will keep you engaged for its runtime.

This book is based upon a script from the Clone Wars TV show, which ended a little abruptly when Disney took over Lucasfilm. Since Clone Wars is part of the new canon, this book is new canon.
I really liked getting to know more about Ventress. The story was engaging, and I read it in a few days. Though, I do wish this was a few episodes of Clone Wars.

I'm a huge fan (maybe one of the only) of the new 52 DC reboot. Barbara Gorden is the main reason. Babs has her legs again! She's no longer Oracle, and she's Batgirl again. Batgirl was my first favorite superhero, after watching the 1960s Batman show. She was a librarian, and she had the cool motorcycle.
Gail Simone script is excellent in this volume, and I quickly demolished her Batgirl arc.
