Sarah (7800 KP) rated Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) in Movies

Fantastic
I'd go so far as saying this is one of the best Star Wars films. It has a fantastic cast, great script and a thrilling and tense storyline. Gareth Edwards has turned a risky one off prequel into a brilliant and entertaining film. Felicity Jones is a great lead, and I think K-2S0 might be my all time favourite robot, the humour he injects into this film is spot on.

To me this is one of the few films that doesn't seem to truly show it's age no matter when you're watching it. The script stays fresh, the soundtrack is amazing and the story is still captivating. Every time I put this on I find myself hooked to the screen, falling in love all over again.
The Lost Boys is truly still one of the best vampire movies around.

Someone should have definitely put it out there that this novel would make the Last Jedi make a little more sense. This novel introduces Hondo, and Leia's first mission. Gray, once again, has Leia on point, and the filmmakers should have definitely consulted her before writing their own script.
Anyway, if you want to understand who Hondo actually is, and why she was so close to Leia, you should definitely give this a read.

Peter G. (247 KP) rated Bird Box (2018) in Movies

Not bad attempt to mix "The Happening" and "A Quiet Place" Sandra Bullock is as always watchable these days in this mash up disaster movie.
It's really not as bad as others say, and the story is somewhat engaging though full of plot holes.
The cast are pretty decent, however John Malkovich is terribly underused and his character hamstrung by the average script, raises more questions than answers!

Peter G. (247 KP) rated Knight and Day (2010) in Movies

A divisive one this is, but I enjoyed it for what it was, a slice of fun and escapism.
Cruise appears to be dialing it in, but I don't think so as he does most of the stunt work here and he seems to be enjoying the script and having fun with it.
Cameron Dias is her usual ditzy character and rounds off this guilt pleasure of a film.

Jacob Reese (14 KP) rated Knives Out (2019) in Movies

This is a great twist to the typical murder mystery trope. Watching from the viewpoint of the killer is a great twist on something that has been done hundreds of times in a fresh way. The acting is superb with several big names providing a very strong cast of fantastic actors. Twist after twist keeps you interested through the entire film. A great script with great actors so over all a great movie.

Emma @ The Movies (1786 KP) rated Life (2017) in Movies
Sep 25, 2019
As a double feature with BatB I saw Life, with Ryan Reynolds, spoiler alert, him being on the main bill was really misleading. While it was a passable story line and the actors were good, I predicted the ending and came out not really feeling like I'd seen a whole film. It almost felt like someone had asked for a synopsis of the whole film and they'd made that instead of making the whole script.

Kevin Phillipson (10072 KP) rated Doctor who creature from the pit in TV
Dec 22, 2021
Watched last night let's start off by talking about the creature itself dear lord what were they thinking evenof the acting in HD it looks terrible no money spent on the creature itself and less said the rhing that sticks out of it especially as reminds of male part of the body. At least it has a decent script let down by the effects and some of the acting
