When Briar Rose kidnaps Prince Liam to force their marriage, the League of Princes ride to his rescue. However, things go horribly wrong, and they find themselves on a new mission – this time for the very spoiled Briar Rose herself. But what is this princess really after?
I shouldn’t have waited so long before reading this sequel. It’s as delightful as the first one. I laughed the entire way through while enjoying how the characters continue to grow and evolve. The plot takes some nice twists along the way to a satisfying conclusion. This book also sets up some interesting possibilities for the climax of the series, and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

Britt Smith (36 KP) rated Alien: Out Of The Shadows in Books

I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.
I'll update this as I get more into the book, but I dove into Alien Out of The Shadows after a Xenomorph kick (I like to pretend the movies after the first two do not exist). It brings you back to the chaos, and Ripley is in the mix as this is set between Alien and Aliens. Hopefully, they can capture that feeling.
** Update: You know, for a quick read it was a really, really good book to delve back into the world of Alien/s. There was only one part that let me down and the rest? Well, let's say I'm going to be coming back to the sequel. Great fun if you love the universe and want to continue your ride.

The fast talking Merc is back and for once bigger is better. It is rare to find a sequel that is better thanks first but in my opinion this is one.
I first saw this film at the UK fan screening and was fortune enough to see the cast Ryan introduced the film as a "Family film welcome to unicorn mountain." The promotion for the lead up to this film was quiet family genius.
Deadpool breaks the 3rd wall and just makes you smile. I have had "have you ever noticed that papa can you here me sounds exactly like do you want to build a snowman." In my head for weeks.
Cable is a fantastic charcter mainly because although techniqually the villain he only doing what he think is right to save hundreds.

Cool cars
Back on track
At last the majority of the original cast are back for a true sequel. It's great how some of the film relates back to what happened in the first and some of the locations are still the same. I heard mixed reviews of this but I thought it was great and the 2nd best in the series now after the first. Even Han from Tokyo drift makes a brief appearance at the start to tie things in a bit. There is plenty of action and cool cars and a great street race scene thats better than the 1/4 mile race of the first. There are rumours there could be a couple more yet, if they get the cast to stay together and a good story it could make for an even better film.

I am definitely in love with this book. Case closed. There's time travel, vampires, merpeople, shifters, and a mystery to solve before something huge goes down. And did I mention the love triangle? I have yet to decide who I want to win Sage's heart, because I like them both!! This story has action, suspense, drama, romance, humor, and it's just such an amazing book, I couldn't put it down! (Seriously, I read it in one afternoon, I couldn't tear myself away!!) I'm looking forward to the day when a sequel is released, because I just can't deal with that ending, I need closure!
*Sorry for all the exclamation points, but I just loved it so much! =)*

First off, no this is not as good as the first film. But then it never could be. The first film had no expectations around it, it could go crazy with a narrow storyline, some origin work, and fill the rest with gags. Since its success, the sequel was always going to have to be bigger and pack more punch. And it certainly does that.
The comedy is still there in droves, both the 4th wall breaks and crude one liners.
The action has stepped up quite a lot, as has the SFX budget. The opening fight scene in Japan is exquisite, as is the end battle ("CGI battle scene").
The formation of X-Force was awesome and not the major feature I was dreading.
Quite simply, this is more of a superhero movie with Deadpool overlaid on top to brilliant effect.

Well I expected something different but I'll take this
I loved this book. I got my hands on an arc copy and my god am I happy. From the blurb I expected some sort of girl power book which put me off a bit but there was no where near as mich as that as I thought. The plot didn't rely at all on a drive of proving girl power as the characters actually stood on their own and had their own motives and drives. I loved their journey through the lands and meeting the sea witches,I only wish there was more or a sequel but there's been no whispers of it and that severely upsets me.

4 Star Rating ____
So many of my Goodreads friends were reading this book and very much enjoying it so I thought I would give it a go too.
I was very pleasantly surprised after I devoured this grim story, I liked it A LOT!
What starts out as a group therapy session turns into something ever so dark and sinister and it was wonderfully executed. I felt for every character within the story and I really didn't want it to end. This leads me on to the only negative that I found which was that it was so short...I was really getting into it when it ended, however, I am very hopeful that there will be a sequel.

Just ok
While I love horror movies, i'm more of a "creature feature" fan than a "slasher flick" one. That being said this one turned out pretty decent. It brings back to mind some of the slasher films of the eighties. The acting was decent and the effects were ok. The concept was pretty good- some friends go to a horror themed park (like many towns have on Halloween) and a killer is hiding in the midst. If you enjoy movies like "Halloween" or "Friday the 13th" you'll enjoy this one, too. The ending was a little weird, but, as with most of these types of films, left it open for a sequel (and knowing Hollywood, there will probably be one). Overall, this was an entertaining horror film that gives you what you expect. Worth a watch.

Back in 2013 (or thereabouts) I picked up a book in my local Tesco's; a book of which (at the time) I knew nothing about but which IO ended up quite enjoying. That books (Child of Vengeance) was the immediate precursor to this, and turned out to be one that I quite enjoyed.
Fast forward roughly 5 years, and I picked up the sequel, hoping to receive the same enjoyment from it.
Unfortunately, those hopes were dashed: I found this (which is, effectively, a Japanese revenge tale) to be plodding, pedestrian, heavy going and really just not that engaging, populated with unlikeable characters with murky motivations and with a verbose style of writing that just did not flow, even in the action sequences. As such, I actually found this a struggle to make it to the end!
Sorry Mr Kirk!
