Hell Fest (2018)
Hell Fest (2018)
2018 | Horror
As the movie starts we see a group of friends entering a haunted house at a fairground, they are split up from each other and one is killed by someone in a costume and hung with other bodies like an attraction, this sets the scene for the movie and got me interested straight away.
Next scene we see another group of friends talking about going to hell fest, yeah yeah we know where this is going to end right!? To be fair if hell fest was real, I would want to go too as its right up my street, you know with the murders and all!
Anyway I found the movie very good, you didn't always know if someone was about to be killed or if it was part of the festival which definitely kept you guessing throughout the movie.
The ending is not your typical Slasher movie ending and it did leave me wanting a sequel. Look out for a cameo from candy man's Tony Todd.

ok, I wasn't going to watch this one because sequels like these, I find, tend to be worse than the originals. Someone wanted me to check it out so, against my better judgements, I did. What I found was a watered down(pun intended) version of the first film(which I really liked and enjoyed). The cinematography wasn't too bad with some decent effects but the acting was weak and the storyline was too. It was very predictable and had your typical Hollywood leave-it-open-for-a-sequel ending(something the original didn't do). This could've been a stand alone film except for the glaring similarities in characters and plot(only on a much lower budget). I don't think I'll be watching the third one. Honestly, you wouldn't be missing anything if you didn't see this one yourselves. Just go watch the first one again. Much more entertaining. NOT worth a watch.

Odd, dreamy follow-up to Cat People; not really a sequel in the conventional sense at all, barely qualifies as a horror movie, either. Picks up the story a few years later; the couple from the original film are now married with a child, who has a problematically rich fantasy life. Given a 'wishing ring' by a lonely old woman, she wishes for a friend - and what appears to be the ghost of her father's first wife (Irena the Cat Woman) materialises...

Much, much gentler than it might sound; there's virtually no reference to Irena's supposedly cursed blood (she turns into a cat in moments of passion), the 'curse' mentioned in the title is the shadow her death still casts over the family. But here Irena seems entirely benign and the story is about the relationship between parents and a child struggling to fit in. Nicely made and performed, but very hard to categorise.

The Purge: Anarchy (2014)

Raise Some Anarchy
The Purge: Anarchy- is 10x better than the first one. A better plot, a better setting, and Frank Grillo. His charcter is the main charcter, but i see his charcter as a anti-hero, someone who is both good and also bad. He wants to save people, but at the same time he wants to save only himself.

The plot: One night per year, the government sanctions a 12-hour period in which citizens can commit any crime they wish -- including murder -- without fear of punishment or imprisonment. Leo, a sergeant who lost his son, plans a vigilante mission of revenge during the mayhem. However, instead of a death-dealing avenger, he becomes the unexpected protector of four innocent strangers who desperately need his help if they are to survive the night.

This franchise got off to a rough start, but this sequel ups it 10 fold. More viloence, more suspense, more thrills and more horror.
