Helena (24 KP) rated Mary Poppins Returns (2018) in Movies
Sep 25, 2019 (Updated Sep 25, 2019)
I didn't think this was a necessary movie to create. The original was wonderful and full of laughter, while Mary Poppins returns felt like it was trying too hard to be the original. Nevertheless I do like some of the actors they choose and appreciate the talent they shared. And I liked the ending song and scene (that felt like Mary Poppins to me!) In short: sequels in Hollywood aren't ever quite as good.

Watched on netflix not as good as the original film but it's probably my favourite of the sequels some of the stunts I found to be to dangerous and I wouldn't try it at home and there's a rumour we might be getting a 4 th movie isn't it time to pack away the toys and maybe grow up before they really hurt themselves

How does this keep happening to the same guy
Watched today wouldn't be Christmas without die hard movie on is the first two Christmas movies or not even if they are set both on Christmas eve and feature John mcclane either way still classics as with the first one this is Bruce willis at his best especially wise cracking plenty of stunts in my opinion probably the best of the sequels

Welcome back neo it's been awhile since the last one but I'm glad its back Reeves and moss haven't lost their touch. Prefer this to the third movie but I would its up there with the second one but the second one is still my favourite of the sequels. there are plenty of good actions scenes hoping for a fifth film sets up plenty of new questions that need answers

Decent Reboot
Caught this on Netflix, not on there much longer. Thankfully not just an updated Reboot, it's actually quite different from the Original Wrong Turn and many sequels.
Enjoyed the first half of the film, the turn so to speak was something different which is good to see but it did get a little bit silly. Not quite as shocking or as good as the original but entertaining.

The predator
Watched last night on Disney plus the best of the sequels for me moving predator from the jungle to the urban jungle of L.a it works by having rival gangs at war giving the predator a reason to go on a hunt. Then you’ve got Danny glover as the action hero of the movie. .but compared to the first movie that will still be the best and this comes close

Mark Halpern (153 KP) rated Superman (1978) in Movies

DC
The adaptation of one of DC comics most favorites heroes is done well in this film. Reeve plays and looks like Clark Kent. The movie is fun, suspenseful and full of action for an 80's movie. Each character in the comic that needs to be involved in the first one is done right. The movie spawned 4 sequels and then was remade more times over. In this case for this series only 2 were needed.

Nolan north
One of the best game series on the PS3 looking amazing on the PS4 Nathan drake has to be one of the best video game characters of all time what with Nolan north on voice duties u cant go wrong. The visuals the gameplay all the other characters scully Elena perfect as I'm currently on the first game and 50 per cent way thru it hopefully will play both the sequels when done

A Carpenter Masterpiece
With an excellent eerie score, chilling suspenseful tone, realistic grounded acting, unforgettable quotable dialog, and genius inventive camera work. John Carpenter's classic slasher about a boogeyman possessed escaped inmate stalking babysitters on All Hallows Eve has been a huge inspiration for slasher films in generally. Not mention it spawned 7 sequels, a remake with a sequel, and a reboot. But after all these years John Carpenter's original Halloween still stands tall above the rest. A masterpiece!

Who wouldn't want a dad with a particular set of skills like Liam Neeson has.
This film moves at a great pace and is brilliant in its execution of what is simply a kidnap and rescue, its similar to John Wick for fight and weapon ballet but not as elegant.
Cant speak for the many unnecessary sequels but this one was a gem when it arrived on the scene, he will find you and he WILL kill you!
