Christine A. (965 KP) rated Labyrinth (FBI Thriller #23) in Books

Book 23 of the FBI Thriller series
I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.
Back in 1996, The Cove, the 1st story in Catherine Coulter's FBI Thriller series was published. The 23rd book, Labyrinth was recently published. In the series, readers have been introduced to FBI thrillers with recurring characters. From what I have read about the series, the main characters are Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock, a husband and wife team who are FBI agents.
Although the series has been on my "want to read" list for many years, I have never read any books from the series. When given the opportunity to review Labyrinth, I jumped at the chance. I usually read the rest of the series before reviewing a book, but Labyrinth is the 23rd book in the series, so I decided to forgo my usual routine and read just the one book.
Labyrinth could stand alone as a novel. The story was interesting and easy to follow. The characters were likable and well developed. Reading the earlier novels would help with understanding some of the references but it is not necessary.
I will continue reading the series with the next book but will keep the earlier books on my "to read" list and try to catch up on the series.

Dean (6927 KP) rated Killing Eve - Season 2 in TV
Jun 15, 2019 (Updated Jun 7, 2020)
Good quirky drama
The first series was a bit of a surprise hit. A quirky English drama about a MI6 agent tracking a flamboyant female assassin across Europe. It is very funny at times, in a typical English kinda way. Whilst also being quite violent as well.
The 2nd series picks up 30 seconds after the end of the first series. It's very similar to the first in terms of style, humor. This time a second assassin seems to be in play and Eve makes connections to a bigger plot. It's still just as fun as the first series. It's quite short with 8 episodes around 40 minutes each. I just preferred the cat and mouse storyline of the first series. Fans will love it just as much.

This was a great series to pass time. An easy viewing, full of comedic lines and dark humour. Some of which was relatable, however worth watching the series 'Children's Hospital' first, as Medical Police is a spin off from that series. To make sense of the series, as when I saw a Doctor dressed as as a weird clown, I couldn't make sense why. It wasn't very clear and I had to Google it to make sense of it. However I would highly recommend this series to have a laugh. I would consider this series similar to that of 'Scrubs'. The actors were great together and storyline although sometimes lengthy leading to a bore at times, it was also gripping and exciting, as well as hilarious!
David McK (3632 KP) rated The Last Kingdom - Season 5 in TV
Sep 3, 2023 (Updated Sep 3, 2023)
Based on a 13-run series of novels by UK author Bernard Cornwell (now living in America), The Last Kingdom - both books and series - is set in and around the time of Alfred the Great and his descendants, and follows the exploits of Saxon born but Danish raised Uhtred of Bebbanburg.
Each series of the TV show adopted roughly 2 of the novels so - if memory serves - that means that this series covers the events of 'Warriors of the Storm' and 'War of the Wolf'.
For some reason, however - and unlike the earlier Sharpe series (also based on novels by Cornwell) I struggled to get into this one, taking roughly a year and a bit to watch a 10 episode series.
I'm not sure why, but it just didn't help with me.
Mores the pity.
