Immensely satisfying
I’ve just rewatched this series in preparation for the final series (only 12 days to go!) and this really is a ridiculously satisfying penultimate series. With a limited number of episodes in comparison with earlier series, the writers really have forgotten any pointless filler and gotten straight down to business. They’ve brought together and wrapped up so many individual story arcs and characters, and being a huge fan I can’t begin to explain how warm and fuzzy it makes me feel seeing certain characters back together after so many series, or those getting their well deserved comeuppance (without any spoilers, you all know who I mean), or indeed certain characters finally doing or learning about what we as viewers have wanted or known all along.

It’s the same old Game of Thrones, thrilling, funny and quite scary and serious all at the same time. And with some great physical effects and CGI thrown in too. Watching this again, I honestly can’t fault this at all - aside from the fact that there is still at least 1 secret to be revealed that as a viewer we’ve known for ages, which is a tad frustrating. What worries me the most though is that the warm fuzzy feeling I have from watching this series is likely to be completely shattered with the final series, as it’s highly unlikely that all of my favourite characters willl survive. I don’t think my heart can take it!

5th and final novel of the Jane Hawk series
I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.

The Night Window by Dean Koontz is the 5th and final Jane Hawk novel in the series. I have read many books by Koontz and am a fan of his Odd Thomas series. Somehow, I missed reading his Jane Hawk series.

I was provided with a copy of the 5th novel and, to give a fair review, needed to read the earlier books in the series. I am so glad that I did. I could not put them down! It would help, but you do not need to read the other books. However, you would be missing out on an excellent and chilling series. Koontz gives you enough information, so you have a general outline of the events leading up to The Night Window.

In the Silent Corner, the first novel, Jane begins a campaign to reveal the truth about her husband's suicide. Early on, we learn a number of government officials and other influential individuals with the help of nanotechnology and an army of mind-altered citizens are responsible. It is the possibility of this "revolution" occurring that makes the story so disturbing. Often you find supernatural creepiness in Koontz's books, but I found this series to be the scariest.

I created a video explaining my slow decent into hating this series, for your viewing pleasure:

However, my short and sweet review of this book is as such. I thought this book was a good start to a series. Yes, I found Lemony Snicket to be irritating, especially with him jokingly defining words every few paragraphs, but I was able to find this book charming enough to move onto the next one... Because I hadn't gotten annoyed yet. I probably remember this book fondly only because it was the first book, and not the sixth book in a series that was exactly like the first book, or the ninth, or the eleventh. This book was short and pleasant, as this series should have been.

If you're a fan of dark romance this is a MUST READ series!!!
Tess & Q will always hold a special place in my heart as the Monsters in the Dark series was my first dark romance. Quickly falling absolutely in love with Pepper's writing, I anticipate each one more than the next. This was a beautiful, perfect visit with old friends and the HEA Tess and Q deserved. Their story broke me and this ending was more than I could have ever expected. I hurt for them watching them struggle through this new territory in their relationship and it was beyond painful to see Q beat himself up the way that he did... HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended book, series & author. If you're a fan of dark romance this is a MUST READ series!!!
