Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2672 KP) rated The Thank You Book (Elephant & Piggie, #25) in Books

Mar 9, 2018

Piggie is thinking about all the people who have enriched her life, so she decides to thank them all. While Gerald likes the idea, he worries she will forget someone important. Will she miss anyone?

This is the final (sob!) Elephant and Piggie book from the talented Mo Willems, and it works well as a series finale. Viewing it as another in the series, it will seem a little weird, but knowing this is the final one makes it very special. There are some fun cameos, including one from Pigeon. And the lesson about thankfulness is good but presented in a fun way. In other words, it’s another great book in the series.

Dana (24 KP) rated A Cold Legacy (The Madman's Daughter, #3) in Books

This was a pretty good ending to the series. Though I liked the other two novels better, this one still held its own. With heavy ties to Mary Shelly's Frankenstein, this novel took on even darker and more serious elements to the series. Frankly, I didn't know that would have been possible. The characters went on developing and there were quite a few twists that I didn't see coming. After one point toward that later half of the book, however, I found myself not wanting to pay as much attention. I felt like it had already been through all of the stuff it was going through and got a bit repetitive. I liked the book, overall, though and would highly recommend this series to anyone who likes a good horror novel!

Ya'll I cannot express my love for RL Mathewson - nor this series - I've probably read the entire series twice and the first few books about 5 times, I just recently listened to this audiobook and I just, I need more - RL just keeps stealing my money and it should make me sad but truly, it doesnt - and her interaction with fans is impeccable. Jason will always be my favourite Bradford and the epilogue was probably my favourite part of the book - mostly, and the use of YOU BASTARD just was undeniable in this book.. seriously, obsessed - also I think there's a reference to hollywood hearts book 1 in there - which even after I read this book multiple times I just now noticed, I clearly need help - read this series .. do it NOW

I first read this book and most of the series years ago before it became popular. Before long I was hooked and had binge read all the available books!!

The book follows Talia as she graduates school and lands her dream job. Throughout the story you learn more about the Talented and the world they live in, from Talia’s perspective.

I found Talia to be a very relatable character, particularly as she has a temper which often gets her in trouble. It was also very easy to empathise with Talia and the struggles she faced in the book.

The book is part of a series so there are still many unanswered questions by the end.

I would definitely recommend this book series especially if you like dystopian books.

Alicia S (193 KP) rated Murder Girl (Lilah Love #2) in Books

Loving this series so far and can't wait to see where we end up next!

Second book in this series and I can't say enough how thrilled I am that we'll be in for more of Lilah Love! Her tough attitude and fierce independence make her one bad a$$ FBI Profiler and a character that I can't help but love and admire. This story is a perfect blend of suspense, action, and romance and Kane's patience and understanding of Lilah and her habits is heartwarming. As dark as his life and experiences may be, he goes out of his way to create a safe place for her, even when she feels like there is no else she can fully trust. Loving this series so far and can't wait to see where we end up next!

David McK (3932 KP) rated Starfighters of Adumar (Star Wars: X-Wing, #9) in Books

The 9th novel in the X-Wing series, this is (in many respects) also a stand-alone, featuring neither the Rogues nor the Wraiths of the previous X-Wing books.

Rather, this concentrates more on Wedge and a few other characters, as they are sent on a diplomatic mission to a newly-discovered world with a pilot mania that is trying to decide whether to join the New Republic or The Empire.

I've been re-reading the X-Wing books in preparation for the newest (just released) book in the series, with this previously being the last in the series. I also think it's fair to say that if you've read any of Aaron Allston's previous X-Wing books you know pretty much what to expect in this
