Emily Hopson (1 KP) rated A Discovery of Witches in Books
Jan 31, 2018
Amazing!
It has everything you could want. Romance, history, fantasy, drama and as the series continues suspense. I can not out it down when I read it. I blew through the series in a week. I can't wait to see how the tv show will come out. This is a must read if you like romance books. It got me in the feels as much as a Nicholas sparks book but different. The character development through out is amazing as well. She is a great writer.

I loved this series and I cannot wait to read the next one! although it made me tear up and want to throw it so many times I absolutely loved it! I'm not the greatest at writing reviews but this series is a must read if you enjoy heart wrenching books that end with a happily ever after! it may bring many tears to your eye's if you are as emotional as myself, but through those tears it will make you smile just as much!

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated Death of Riley (Molly Murphy Mysteries, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
New immigrant Molly Murphy has decided to take on a job as a private investigator. Somehow, she talks Riley into mentoring her. However, when he is murdered, Molly is on her own trying to find out what happened to him. Another great visit to 1901 New York, this one introduces more series regular characters and is stronger than the debut in the series.

This is the second book that I think is in a series but what series I do not know. I love this book as much as the first one. It more about Cafe and Cafe Owner. Sorry I can not remember her name or her son at the moment. It been a while since I read it. Though it was this year and only a couple of months ago. I will let you decide for yourself if you download the e-book or buy the paperback.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated O' Artful Death in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Sweeney St. George studies gravestones, so an unique one in Vermont is too much for her to resist. It is rumored that a murder is connected to the gravestone, but when a modern murder happens, Sweeney is left wondering what the connection might be. This series has an interesting hook and great characters. The plot was fascinating as well. Good start to an interesting series.

Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated The Master in Books
Feb 13, 2018
I loved this book. I've only read one other from this series and it was quite some time ago but I fell straight back into the story and it's as if I'd never left (Yes that is the proper use for 'it's' Thank you Cole) I love that Cole is a stickler for the correct use for words and how he makes Sasha write her feels down in the journal. I'm just going to have to read the rest of the series again now

Stephanie (8 KP) rated Air Awakens in Books
Jul 24, 2018
The first book in the series, Kova creates a world of characters that are dynamic and continuously evolving. A girl who is used to a quiet life where she is no one special is quickly thrown into a world where she has no experience. You'll find yourself unable to put down this book and quickly reaching for the next in the series as you are pulled into a story about a girl who has to figure out who she is before others decide for her.

OneStarReads (141 KP) rated The Ersatz Elevator (A Series of Unfortunate Events #6) in Books
Aug 13, 2018
I created a video explaining my slow decent into hating this series, book by book, for your viewing pleasure:
This is the book that broke the camels back. I started to hate this series from here on. If book 5 got your hopes up for something special, prepare for them to be ground into the mud. It's the same damn book. They all are. He just changes the amount of surrealism sprinkles he uses for each book.

Oh what an epilogue!? Obviously I can't share any spoilers but THIS.. is just what the ending needed to heal all our hearts after following this series for so long. Pepper has done it again, kept us waiting for the perfect end to this incredible series and all I can say, is she f*$%@ ROCKS!? Loved this snippet into the future and thank you, Pepper for sharing these incredible characters & story with us! I know you'll miss them as much (if not more) than we do <3

CKD (37 KP) rated Home to Big Stone Gap (Big Stone Gap, Book 4) in Books
Dec 7, 2018
The Big Stone Gap book series was a wonderful read. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters....Ave Maria, Jack Mac, Iva Lou, Fleeta, Pearl...and all the others. Great stories, made all the more real because the author is from Big Stone Gap, VA. I've heard that they are making the first novel into a movie. Should be interesting. I feel that most books turned into movies do not usually turn out well, with a few exceptions. I highly recommend this series.
