Welcome to Sap City!

This book is like Romeo and Juliet with a cute twist. in reality, if i really look at it from an author's perspective, it was pretty cute. the characters were developed instantly, and the sentinces drew me in. the prose was actually pretty good. aside from the sex, it was a good book.

yeah, it's got some sex in it. i mean, c'mon. it's about chemistry between the two most unlikely people. but whatever. it actually wasn't too bad.

though i could tell a lot about the author's morals. or lack therof.

the first paragraph in the book is: "Everyone knows I'm perfect. my life is perfect. my cloths are perfect. even my family is perfect. and although it's a complete lie, I've worked my butt off to keep up the appearance that I have it all." I mean, that pretty much develops a character instantly, doesn't it?

I'd have to go with these ratings:

storyline: 3/5
prose/sentences/grammar etc: 3.5-4ish/5
characters: 5/5

but again, sap city, people.
the weak points of this book:
the sex
the language
the sappy sappy sappy.

I realize this isn't my best review, but i'm trying to keep it honest here.

until next time,
~Haley

Not the Trashy Romance I Expected
Contains spoilers, click to show
Very few romance titles these days seem to be anything other than sex scenes and awkward in between dialouge. Which may be fine for some. But I prefer a story with characters that actually feel real in a setting that doesn't seem so cliche. And, preferably, I'd like the non-sex parts to be almost as interesting as the sex parts.

I didn't start this book thinking I'd finish it in one sitting, but here we are. Somehow, the main character, Avery, managed to pull me. I was invested in her. And in Joe, even though I admit a few cliches were spent on him. Their dynamic was fun but not rapey (like he tells her their first time that she only need say the word and he'll stop no matter what- which, sure, shouldn't need to be said, but still), supportive without being overbearing. The only thing I take away Points for is that the plot was not super complicated and parts felt disjointed at time, and I wanted a longer ending. Don't get me wrong, the puppy proposal was cute. But I felt like their should've been a chapter or two more before the epilouge.

I recommend this title to anyone looking for a good, simple read.

Nudity
Moderated porn for the teen
American pie is a film based a lot around some high school teenagers who love sex. Sex nudity and more sex. It centres mainly around jim, who is still a virgin and he has a ginormous crush on the foreign beauty Nadia. The film starts off where Nadia waits for Jim in his bedroom already getting naked. This is where the nudity begins, they may as well just slap a porn sticker on the film.

Putting the porn factor aside, the film does bring some pretty hearty laughs courtesy of Eugene levy and seann William Scott. They bring the laughs and giggles to the film and make it watchable.

A good thing I find about the film though is the twist that you start to see coming with Michelle. Now if you haven't seen the film I will not tell you anymore but you must watch it! Yes I have said it's mediocre and should been put as porn but this aside it is a watchable film that delivers on the comedic factor.

It's a good film for when your on your own with nothing to do, and in need of a laugh.. or maybe some alone time...

Wiyaala is a charismatic singer-songwriter from Funsi, Upper West, Ghana. Not too long ago, she released a music video for her “Village Sex” single, featured on her second studio album, entitled, “Sissala Goddess”.

Wiyaala’s name means ‘the doer’ in her Sissala dialect.

Thanks to a musical mother, The Young Lioness of Africa dodged FGM and child marriage. Also, the patriarchal society which she grew up in made it very difficult for her to become an entertainer.

Since then, she has won over fans across the world. Also, the most remarkable thing is she’s from Ghana, a country with a notoriously conservative music industry, where any challenge to the norm is frowned upon.

Wiyaala’s “Village Sex” single contains a relatable storyline and ear-welcoming vocal. Also, the song possesses energetic instrumentation flavored with West African folk, Afro-pop, and world elements.

‘Sissala Goddess’ is a fascinating, often moving glimpse at Africa old and new through the Young Lioness of Africa’s eyes.

Wiyaala sings part of the album in Sissala—one of the world’s most endangered languages.

Also, she celebrates the love of those who have supported her as well as challenging traits of bigotry, jealousy, and greed.

This was an amazing love story about growth and acceptence. It is not a smack you in the face with sex love story. It has an important messege of loving yourself and not missing what is in front of you.

The characters are amazing and fairly complex. The plot rolls at a good pace. Overall it leaves you with the warm fuzzies.

Great blend of comedy/action/fantasy (0 more)
Pretty violent (0 more)
I would say this reminded me of Game of Thrones with a heist element and less sex, but about the same amount of violence and death. I enjoyed the world building, mystery, characters, pretty much everything! Looking forward to the sequel, but I know I'll be re-reading this one sometime this year before then.
