Okay so like pretty much everyone else I'd heard of this series & heard great reviews. I was very unsure about diving into the series because I am not & never have been a "romance novel" fan. It took me winning a copy of this book on Goodreads to actually pick it up & start reading. I have to say that I am glad I won it.
Outlander is NOT your typical trashy romance. The story is very well written & it hooks the reader in from the very first chapter. Are there typical romance novel things in it? Of course, but they were NOT out of this world sex scenes that make you uncomfortable reading it. In fact, I was more into the story line & the character development throughout the book than I was getting into that part of it. It was more a necessary component to move the plot along than a gratuitous sex scene that was just stuck in there for fun.
I can't wait to continue reading the series & find out what happens to Claire, Jamie, & yes, even Frank.

Oh man I love me some historical erotica. Something about it makes the sex especially delicious. And make no mistake, this book is HIGHLY erotic. If you don’t like that than you should look elsewhere. It’s not fair to give the book a low rating for being explicit when it is plain and clear in the descriptions just how erotic it is going to be. If sex isn’t your things, that’s fine. But don’t shame being who do enjoy it, however gratuitous it is.

Don’t be fooled though. As insignificant as it is, there is a plot. Enough to keep it the story moving between the erotic scenes. There is also some depth to the characters although it is not anything original as far as historical romances go. There is the hero with a troubled past the woman so deep in love with him, she couldn’t fall for anyone else.

Overall, the plot and characters weren’t spectacular, just interesting enough to keep me invested the HEA.

I've always been a big fan of Heather Graham. All of her books are amazing, and this one was no different.

I love the Harrison Investigation books because I love the way crime & the paranormal are combined. However, this book didn't have that much paranormal going on for it which disappointed me a bit.

Another thing that was a bit disappointing were the grammatical errors "What do to" instead of "What to do". And in one place, the character of Katherine, her name changes to Kathleen for 2 pages!!

Other than that, it was a good read. The prologue really got me interested in the book. Then it got a bit boring, but gradually, it became interesting again.

One other thing that bothered me was the sex in this book. I'm not a big fan of sex in books. I didn't think it needed that much description as Heather Graham put in there, but that is just a personal preference.

Like I said, a very good read that won't disappoint!
