"Last one is A Midsummer Night’s Sex Comedy. I don’t think it’s up there on most people’s lists. I just think it’s so beautiful. It’s very funny, but very gentle, and it also deals with issues of life and death in a very serious way. I can remember every time I saw it crying at the end. And part of it, too, is [Woody Allen] makes this incredibly good use of Mendelssohn’s music. I think the entire score is — I’m not sure about the soundtrack — but the score is Mendelssohn. I just think it’s a really exquisite piece of filmmaking."

About time!!

Am I allowed to give a book 5 stars simply because after 4 books our two main characters finally got around to having sex? It seems to have taken an age but I'm a happy reader right now.

Of course that's not the only reason I gave it five stars because once again Tilly ended up doing some crazy security jobs and ended up battered and bruised once more. I really like her loyalty and grit! And the relationship with Daniel and Niq--I still love those boys!!

Will be buying book 5 in the morning!

"Probably my absolute favourite. It's very influenced by American Graffiti - It's all in one day, it's the end of school, you've got all the teen cliques – but it's not a standard Hollywood feel good-fest, it's tough and quite sharp. You've got those first experiences of drugs and sex and fights and drinking, all to that great soundtrack. And I love all the stoner stuff, it's just really funny. Again, it's that extraordinary seventies American super liberal moment, which is a completely lost age. It recaptures that: 'Lets all hang out. Politics is over, disco is just around the corner."

"We all know the deal: a group of people want to get together and do something simple—see a movie, drink some coffee, eat some dinner. But it never works out that way. That’s what Buñuel did here, but with greater stakes/steaks on the table. Levity and seriousness, the intrusion of the surreal into the upper crust, forcing a single question at the end: would anyone portrayed in the film actually watch the film? After all, each oneiric explosion in it is something the politesse class doesn’t speak of at the table: sex, death, religion."

"Like for many Americans, incest is a rough area for me. I just have a natural aversion to it. That being said, when I saw this film in my Bergman/Polanski seminar sophomore year, I was so taken with the Bergman way that I forgot to be freaked out by the sex between siblings. I couldn’t stop whispering the last line, “Papa spoke to me,” at everyone I came across, and I think I will start again. Bergman is the king of mood, and his actors give it all to him, free of vanity and therefore crazy beautiful."

This started off quite good, then the love triangle aspect was introduced and I loved Grant, he was a hot geek, while Christian came across as some sort of loser boyfriend who occasionally had a nicer, softer, side.

Then it progressed some in the triangledom of relationships and I got a little giddy... And then it all started to go downhill for me from after the sex.

The storyline just got a little too ridiculous for me, and I started skipping pages, just skimming others...

Therefore I'm afraid it's getting a two star. Not for me at all, sorry.

This was really rather dark, which I wasn't expecting. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, actually, I just wanted something a little different to my usual reads of yaoi and shojo. And this certainly was.

It was erotica with sex scenes in every chapter but one chapter was really dark with one of the characters abused bother physically and sexually.

On the other hand there is an almost silver lining with a budding relationship blossoming between our abused character and a young guy who's become fixated with her.

I may have to read the next volume to see what happens next.
