Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Feral Sins (The Phoenix Pack #1) in Books
Jan 12, 2021
3.5 stars, mainly because Suzanne's books can be too long for my liking a lot of the time and because I got fed up of reading the sex scenes.
I'm pretty picky about my shifter books, preferring vampires to shapeshifters most days, and this one was good but I felt it went on too long.
Character wise I think I liked Marcus the most, though I couldn't really explain why. I also liked Dante. In fact, most of the guys were pretty cool but I did have favourites.
Other than wanting to read book 4, Marcus' book, I haven't decided if I want to read the rest of the series yet.

Three parents try to stop their daughters from having sex on Prom night.
They're not for looking at, they're for using.
This film was everything I hoped for. Hilarious nonsense that really made me thank god that my parents aren't that crazy... although I probably shouldn't tempt fate like that.
Leslie Mann is wonderful, I loved her in The Other Woman, and I love her in this. There's some innocence around the characters she plays and it's just so funny.
It's not going to win any awards, but it is a great light-hearted film that will have you smiling, laughing, and cringing in equal measure.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated A Wild Ride (The Bullriders, #1) in Books

DNF @ 65%.
If I'm going to be brutally honest, I'll say my enjoyment of this book ended about a third of the way through. I don't know if it was the bull riding--though considering I like to read about cowboys that seems unlikely--or the money worries that bored me but after the first sex scene and the subsequent meeting I just lost interest in it all.
I wanted more of the attraction and relationship between the two main characters and I felt it was lacking in some parts. I felt the book concentrated more on the ranch and money.
Not for me.

This is my second book by the author and I struggled to get into both. They weren't written with the smoothness I like from my stories and I didn't particularly care about the characters.
The beginning grabbed me--the tension between them in that police interview--but I quickly grew a little bored. I didn't feel like we got to know the characters all that well so when the sex scenes started, I zoned out and just plain skipped the ones that followed. I just didnt want to carry on so decided to give up on it.
Not an author for me.

I was nearing the end of a reading challenge and one of the few categories that I had left was to read a book that had been banned at some point. I picked this one up thinking it was short so would be an easy win but it was a bad choice.
This book seemed to be obsessed with sex and sating the C word. I could have coped with that to a degree if there had been a plot that it wrapped around but that seemed to be missing. Oh well, you can't get a great book every time.
