Oh my! Someone needs to pass me a fan!!

The main character is Claire, smart, sexy, funny and for me, a very lucky lady! From a bad situation new and awesome things happen for her......I so want those things to happen for me too.

As a character she's well written, likeable and shows that she's human like the rest of us, that the tasty, exciting experiences she has are actually achievable for us too.

The events that start her journey, again, could happen to anyone......the things that come to light, a little less so. However, I do wish there was a little more depth to that side of the story, a little more meat on the bones.

Overall I do love it so a solid 4 out of 5

New Vocals, same great Rock!
Sienna Venom is absolutely awesome as the new vocals for Lesbian Bed Death. I was introduced to this band at the time of Kittie Racchea being the vocalist and was saddened to hear she was departing from the band, but also couldn't wait to hear someone new take over and bring us the new era of LBD music. Myself, like many fans were not disappointed.

Sienna Venom is strong and sexy and that comes across in her vocals. Songs like Book of the Dead, Drag Me To Hell and Son of a Thousand Maniacs show her strong dominating attitude whilst songs like Evil Never Dies, and Make Your Wish, bring out the sexiness that comes with having a female as the lead vocalist. That's not to say that Male vocalist's can't sound sexy to certain audiences, but I am simply stating that this band has always been lead by female vocals and that those vocals have always shown strength, beauty and sexiness, and Sienna Venom is carrying on that tradition in her own new way.

Book of the Dead is a song about the Necronomicon from Evil Dead, and Son of a Thousand Maniacs, (Watch the music video) is inspired by and certainly has aspects of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. The horror movie connections have always been something I love about this band, and the lyrics are always brilliantly written and performed to a rocking beat, that'll easily get stuck on repeat in your head.

If you haven't listened to this album yet, then what are you waiting for? Watch the music video's above, and listen to the rest of the album. They're awesome and so is their music!

a deliciously sexy read!
I was gifted my copy of this book, that I write a review was not required, however, I found this review written up on my desk when I cleared it off, so here it is!

Faced with the end of his boy band career, 23yr old Blake runs home to his family, only to find his parents have signed him up to an internet reality show. Elion happens to have had a crush on Blake since school. When the film crew following Blake blow an innocent encounter into something massive, Blake finds himself with Elion as a boyfriend. What starts off as a fictitious relationship rapidly turns into a real one for both young men. But someone doesn't want Blake to have Elion and both men could be in grave danger.

How I can file a book on the "crime/thriller" shelf AND the "too stinking cute" shelf is beyond my current comprehensive, but when a book tells me that's where it needs to be, who am I to argue!

The crime bit comes from the stalker/superfan who has targeted Blake as the object of their affections. I did see that one coming at me a mile off, though, and it's great to watch my ideas unfolding correctly. Ms Welch knows how to keep you on your toes, and even if I did see who it was, I did NOT see it going down like that!

And the too stinking cute bit is the way Elion and Blake develop their relationship. Because, yes, in the beginning, it was all for show, it very quickly became something else for both of them. Something very REAL. And I loved watching that happen!

A very delicious, steamy, sexy read.

So, I have been in a bit of a book slump this year. I work hard. I have a two year old. I just don't have the time or the brain power for the types of books I used to read. 800 page epic novels are just too taxing on my time presently. Until I have the time like I use to, I want instant gratification from the books I read.

Now when I say this book is trash, I don't mean the story is rubbish. Far from it I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. What I mean is it isn't 'high' fiction, its probably not going to win any awards. What is is though, is a simple to read, quick paced, sexy book. I am not going to drag out descriptions about the characters and any flaws they may have had in character development (there were some, if I am to be anyway critical). I have read much much much worse books by 'high quality' authors. This was at it's simplest form a book that I have enjoyed reading. I enjoyed it so much that i will most likely read any future novels.

I also feel like it actually wouldn't take too much for this story to actually become 'high' fiction. but when a book it this short there is only so much character and world building that can be done. If it were ever re-edited to be expanded, would I read it again.... yes. The skeleton of the story is very good. but it is at present definitely a book written to get as quick as it can to the juicy (sexy) parts. some good shameless smut is included. So if you aren't into that, this is not the book for you.

This book well and truly got me out of my reading slump.

Sexy And very Enjoyable!
French Kissing is a sexy novel about very successful women with plenty of action in the boardroom and bedroom. It centres around the owners and employees of a public relations firm called Barbier & Cyr that is located in Paris. One of the owners is in a long-term relationship with a woman who works at a hospital and is working long hours like her partner. The book is written in sections and is told from each one of the key characters' perspectives, making the story very easy to follow.

Juliette and Nadia have been partners for the past ten years. Juliette is a workaholic and very proud of the agency that she and Claire Cyr started. However, Juliette feels her long-term relationship with Nadia is in jeopardy and doesn't know what to do about it. The highs and lows of their relationship are one of the key focal points in this book and the glorious undercurrents are very humorous, amazing, and touching. Juliette is in a state of turmoil and at a loss as to how to make things right with Nadia. How will things progress?

The two other main characters involved with Juliette and Nadia are Claire and Steph. Claire is single and Nadia has invited a doctor from her hospital to a dinner party happening at Juliette and Nadia's home as a date for Claire. These four women are all involved in each others' amazing love lives. This is a major part of the book, along with being a source of many delightful events and amusing situations. The author's wonderfully written highs and lows are incredibly enjoyable to read.

This is a truly remarkable novel!

When Aaron sees a beautiful woman being shaken down by two corrupt cops on the streets of New York he steps in to try to help her. But Michelle does not need his help and is well able to deal with the police. However in the fracas Aaron is accidentally shot and fatally wounded. Michelle feels guilty and feels she has to save his life the only way she can - by turning him into what she is. A vampire.

Michelle teaches Aaron about his superhuman powers and how he has to live now but there is trouble brewing as Aaron comes to terms with his new life, the control Michelle has over him and letting go his old existence, the two corrupt police officers are determined to track Michelle down and make her pay.

Along the way there is plenty of sex. Vampires have always been sexy and the recent romantic resurgence of vampires has only emphasised this. Luedke takes this one step further. Vampire bites induce sexual arousal in their victims and Michelle teaches Aaron to use this with care, except when they are together when they are able to withstand each other's bites.

It would have been easy for the sex scenes to overwhelm the book but Luedke manages to keep everything as an integral part of the plot which evolves neatly throughout the course of the book as the various plot strands come together.

There are some terrific action scenes too with the vampires' hightened abilities resulting in some sequences that reminded me of The Matrix complete with 'bullet time'.

So if you want your vampires sexy and powerful and your stories thrilling and full of action this is the story for you.

Rated: Scenes of sex and violence. Frequent swearing.

JT (287 KP) rated Sucker Punch (2011) in Movies

Sucker Punch (2011)
Sucker Punch (2011)
2011 | Action, Adventure, Fantasy
Sucker Punch will pack just that, a massive visual punch, so hard you’ll be doubled over by the stunning action sequences the film has to offer. Using a number of different scenarios from an alternative reality concocted in the mind of Baby Doll (Emily Browning), she plots a daring escape with the help of her fellow sexy inmates, and I do mean sexy.

This group include Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), Amber (Jamie Chung ) and sisters Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish) and Rocket (Jena Malone). They teach Baby to retreat into increasingly ridiculous fantasies to escape the sinister fate that awaits her. During a number of daring missions in which they tackle everything from Nazis, mechanical robots and fire breathing dragons they must acquire a selection of different items along the way each aiding them in their quest. All the time guided through by the Wise Man (Scott Glenn).

There is no denying that Snyder is one of the most exciting action directors about although some would say that his storytelling is not as strong. He leaves the backstory to be played out in the opening credits. Personally I don’t see anything wrong with that, in fact I think it is done very well.

It’s clear though from the limited and brief interlude of a back story that Snyder was only thinking about making these dream sequences as elaborate as he possibly and he certainly achieved that! The girls battle through in next to nothing, short skirts, knee high socks and push up bras. Titillating, it’s close to a peep show with guns.

Given that this is Snyder’s own original screenplay I think he has done enough to hold his own. While not as engaging as 300 or Watchmen it’s a definite A for effort with a soundtrack that is not a bad listen either.
