It was short and sweet
A fresh start...

It’s been three years since Serena King learned to say no—no to the boys that were a desperate cry for help, no to the extra weight she put on in self defense, and most of all no to the abuse that has haunted her since she was fifteen. Now a sophomore in college, all she wants is to be normal. The last thing she expects is a guy who can make her want... make her want ...

Didn't take long to read I felt compelled to finish it in one go. Luckily it's a short book. It flowed nicely which is why it's so easy to read. You're heart reaches out to Serena as she deals with her abusive past its a feel good ending seeing her get through the other side!
Recommended for those who enjoy a quick read.

13 Little Blue Envelopes was a delightful read. The author knows how to keep you hooked with short easy-to-read chapters and I found myself reading a chapter every chance I got!

It had me hooked from the first envelope and read the book over a couple of days - only to find there is a follow-on novel out too!

I was luck enough to get this as a free book on Amazon kindle which is a fantastic way of discovering new authors. The book is aimed at teenage/young adult but I would recommend it for any age group.

MoMo’s Book Diary loved this delightful novel and recommends 13 Little Blue Envelopes as a 4 star read. (read May 2011)

I enjoyed this book. It was a short sweet read. The only thing I didn't like was it was wordy. Seemed like a lot of words to say one thing but other then that I liked it a lot. It was funny and loved the chemistry and the ending was a perfect way to end :)

Whoever translated this from the French is an excellent writer themselves. The language is nothing short of elegant, and reminiscent of Ondaatje. The story is simple but the characters are so vivid and special, they draw you in. Simply a lovely read from start to finish (and the twist in the end isn't bad, either).

Hello, my name is Davida and I'm a Rachel Joyce addict. That's why after reading "Perfect" I couldn't wait for her next novel and had to buy this short story. Once again, she doesn't disappoint! You can read my review of this here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2014/07/21/the-scent-of-letting-go/

I borrowed this book from the library, assuming it would be another light, smut-laced Sylvia Day read. A mindless, fun, beach read. However, for a fairly short novella, Ms. Day certainly packed it with deep emotion and sincerity, which took me by surprise. Parts of the story were funny or exciting, while other parts were gut-wrenching. I was pleasantly surprised by Butterfly in Frost. The story was quite complex, emotionally, in a very short number of pages. It could have stood to be longer, and felt like it probably skipped over a lot of details in a couple of spots. However, for a novella, this really grabbed my emotional heartstrings in a stronger way than I expected it to.

I was gifted a copy of this short story by the author in exchange for an honest review. I made no guarantee of a favorable review.

This short story was a deeply, powerful and meaningful story of the human heart and the capacity of the love it holds told via the use of Norse mythology. It was well written and I certainly did not see what was coming. I love a story that makes me cry upon revealing its most intimate secret. This is truly a must read.

I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.

I loved this book!! It is heavily influenced by Sherlock Holmes (whom I love). Fans of Sherlock and classic detective books will love this book.

I love how short & sweet this book is, yet it is able to fit the full story in. Also, I am a big fan of books with short chapters. For some reason, it makes me read them faster, haha.

The plot and two main characters felt real.

I'll definitely be reading more of this author and this series. =)

I received this book for free for an honest review.

A collection of poetry, words of wisdom and short stories, all surrounding the subject of a relationship gone wrong, and through the healing process. After a short prologue poem the first item of prose is called “A Shiner” … a hard hitter in more way that one.

There was one or two small grammatical things I saw, but that's just me being a bit picky as it was not enough to take away from the heart-string pulling writing.

Well worth a read
