The Defenders was a lot of fun to watch with some really awesome action sequences that I've come to associate with Marvel/Netflix while story is nothing new it was still fun to watch and to see The Defenders come together was really awesome(except for Iron fist). For me Jessica Jones was really the stand out from the group and really saved this season for me.

You really feel the shorts season with this one and since they waited so long for them to come together the last few episodes felt a but rushed so I do wish they would have extended the season to the normal 13 episodes I feel like it really would have helped the pacing of the season.

If you couldn't tell I really truly hated Iron Fist with a passion he was such an obnoxious epitome of rich white male privilege and he really did drag this season down for me since almost every time he was on screen I found my focus drifting off. I will admit I did enjoy his interactions with Luke Cage.

This is the best and most accurate list of drawbacks for this show. I would add that the set-piece for the final showdown (the underground cave/dragon skeleton) was just so godawful. It was such a weird twist for three of these gritty, realistic superheroes to be drawn into this bizarre mystical plot. The writers knew it too, they lampshade it in the elevator scene, but just because you make your characters acknowledge that they are in a ridiculous situation, doesn't make that situation less ridiculous.

You seriously couldn't be any more right just another way Iron Fist messed up the show.

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

I have read Lauren Dane before but this was my first venture into her fantasy romance. I enjoyed what I read from her previously. But maybe that’s because they have all been novellas/shorts, or the purpose of them was dirty delicious sex. This was definitely not one of her better ones. Unless you are reading it for sex.

The short version: the plotline is an old tired one that is literally a dime a dozen. I felt that Dane used it just to have a plotline at all to further her characters relationship. Her characters weren’t very original either. This would have all been more acceptable had I felt the author tried but I genuinely felt that this story and these characters were created purely to have a sexual relationship. I will concede, however, that the erotica aspect is pretty well written. There are some non-hetero scenes as well as...sharing? So if you want something more vanilla in the romantic department, you should pass this up.

If you can get past the ridiculous aspects and poor writing in terms of plot and characters, you may enjoy the erotica. You’ve been warned though.
