This is not your usual memoir about the Holocaust ... well not one I have ever read before anyway ... it's the true story of what is was like for a family of Jews living in France during World War II.

Written from the perspective of three of the children, the story tells of their harrowing experiences during the German occupation of France and having to move from place to place, losing the adults in their lives and being separated from their siblings.

This is a heart-rending story but also a story of survival, bravery and hope and I want to thank the Duckworth Books Group via JellyBooks for my copy in return for them analysing my reading data and an honest review although this wasn't compulsory.

Best 2K Game
My absolute favorite WWE game since Smackdown Here Come the Pain. So many hours of couch co op with siblings and friends. Easy controls to pick up and play but hard to master. Pin system adds so much tension. Arcade style hell in a cell falls and stacking flaming tables add to the fun. 30 Years of Wrestlemania is the best story mode In years. Relive and learn history past and present. Unlike newer games, every charactor has PURPOSE to being on the roster. The roster is amazing blending past legends and future legends. Even the DLC charactors like NWO and Bruno Sammartino make you want to play more.

Intense!
I was anticipating this show since it was announced as I was in a show slump after binge-watching Breaking Bad in the fall of 2014. This series reminds me, in a way, of BB. They both have main characters who are upstanding citizens and eventually over the course of the series, strips away the veneer of civility to reach their not so noble core, and possibly downright rotten, core.

Bloodline is much more of a family drama than Breaking Bad though. It explores all those familial ties and how they can be strained or broken, especially as siblings jockey for position for standing with their parents--even well into adulthood.

I love this game. It's just a simple, black and white card game, but it is one of the best games out there. It's dirty, it's wild, it's weird, and it's sometimes just plain wrong, but it is a hilarious party game from start to finish. It really works well when all your friends have the same horrid sense of humor, and it's best when you get just the right card at just the right time. Maybe not the best to play with your family (mostly parents and much younger siblings), and I say that as someone who does occasionally.

Makes you question life
Is fate entirely inexorable?
The Gold siblings, having gone to see a fortune teller who tells them the date they will each die attempt to A.) Forget, B.) Live life to the fullest beforw the inevitable or C.) Find a way to change it.

This book made me think, hard about what my life is leading up to. It made me wonder if that niggling fear of death and my attempts to avoid it were all in vain. It also gave me an appreciation for how I have lived my life thus far. This novel is beautiful and heart rending while somehow, in the end, giving hope that while we may just be along for the ride, life can be beautiful and worth the heartbreak.
