I cannot believe I have never watched this movie before. I really loved every single thing about it. It made me giggle so often, especially the last scene, when the little Groot is dancing to the music.

The storyline was predictable, but it was enjoyable to watch. I will definitely be watching the second movie soon!

"A remarkable collection of essays by a remarkable woman. Lorde’s views on race, gender, homophobia, xenophobia, class discrimination… To me this book is a manifesto of multiplicity. In an age in which we are all reduced to single identities and pushed into artificial tribes, Lorde’s intersectional and touchingly human approach is like a balm. It is a book about love, resilience and sisterhood."

"My all-time personal favorite. I love this book, all of it: the plot, the characters, the dialogue, much of which was lifted verbatim by John Huston for his screenplay for the beloved movie of the same name. The single best monologue in fiction appears toward the end, when Sam Spade tells Brigid O’Shaughnessy why he’s giving her to the police."

"Don DeLillo is my sentence god. His sentences are more nuanced and forceful and beautiful than any sentences I know. If, upon departing for this hypothetical island, I were to be told I had to shed some weight, I could (though I’d be sorry to) just take a single DeLillo sentence with me, and read it over and over again."

Does anyone else ever struggle to find something you’re in the mind to watch?

I find that despite having all the streaming platforms and on demand services, and there being a lot of films and shows I’m interested in seeing, a lot of evenings I can’t find a single thing I actually feel like watching. Is it just me? 😕

Another reason I like physical media. Streaming makes it too easy to change your mind. Once you put in a disk, you instantly become too lazy to get up and change it if it's horrible! I suppose you wouldn't buy something unless you really liked it though.

Yes, all the time! I wind up scrolling through a bunch of platforms and then just watching something I've seen a hundred times instead.

Fantastic series
Love the entire In Death series. JD Robb is the alternate pen name for Nora Roberts because the series really follows a single chatacter as she solves murders in the mid 21st century. Completely different feel from her Nora Roberts books which, while I love them, can sometimes be predictable and saccharine at times.
