I think this book is going to be the next Queenie, I absolutely loved it from the moment I sat down and had to will myself to put it down to go and make food!
We are introduced to Yinka and her family at her younger sister’s baby shower. Being from a Nigerian family, Yinka is feeling a lot of pressure from her family and especially her mother to find herself a husband and is constantly being asked why she is single as well as being prayed for at every opportunity.
Yinka is my age, and goes through the same thoughts that I do about being single which makes her extremely relatable to me and that could be what has made me love her character so much. Although I don’t have the pushy family, some of the thoughts that she has do resonate with me as a single woman. And I’m glad that towards the end of the book she started to embrace her singledom with both hands and decide to love herself.
I loved how this was written and how interspersed with the story there were whatsapp messages, voicemail messages, reminders, post it notes, status updates and googled questions littered throughout the pages, it felt like a real life and helped you to imagine Yinka as a real person with everything going on being presented to you in those forms. It also broke up the story slightly and helped to move things on when needed.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns out to be this years must read book, and I will definitely be recommending it to anyone that asks. Thank you to NetGalley and Lizzie Damilola Blackburn for the privilege of reading this book in return for an honest review, and I hope that this is not the last that I see of Yinka.

A little disappointing
I'm not a massive GT fan, and this is the first GT game I've played in quite a while. To be honest, it's a little disappointing.
Graphically it is a very beautiful game. Both the cars, tracks and scenery are flawless. The problem is with the gameplay. As with most games nowadays, the focus is entirely on online gameplay. Which is a pain for people like me who aren't particularly bothered about playing against random people.
The single player campaign is more of a training school than any sort of career mode, and the two player split screen is atrocious. The screen is split vertically which is painful to watch after a while and there's no option to change the screen. There's also no option to add in computer players and racing against one person gets a little old very quickly.
The number of cars and tracks also appears to be limited in comparison with other games unless you unlock them in single player. And I find the menu screen isn't very user friendly.
Great if you want to play online, but lacking otherwise.

is anyone else just TIRED of the "i'm engaged to the Worst Person Alive and won't do anything about it until i meet this down to earth single person who makes me feel like i've never felt before but i'm gonna lead them on until i'm finally fed up with how my fiance treats me and everyone else" plot? what is it with movies that feature engaged people that just stops them from being in a relationship with decent people, and the movie doesn't end with the engaged person dumping their fiance for the one they met like a week ago?
regardless, this movie is kind of cute. it features a great dynamic between the main character, Ellie, and her father as well as a friendship to strive toward (her father and uncle Zeke). it's a very sweet story, and despite my little rant up top, i did enjoy it. it's heart warming, entertaining, and the ending had me tearing up a little bit?

It's beautiful, and atmospheric with great music.
At time of playing (launch, before any updates) there's a few clunky things: like constantly drawing your weapon when you don't mean to. (1 more)
I had one instance where entering a room in the final mission kept completely crashing my game, and I had to parkour my way around to overcome this. Hopefully this is patched out soon!
Saved the Single Player
I loved this game. I imagine I'll be playing it for many years to come, and I'm hoping desperately for a sequel! I've been missing single player RPGs desperately lately, with studios like BioWare leaving them behind.
This game really scratched that itch for me. It's got great characters, great gameplay and a great story. It's just great. I can't recommend it enough.
Obviously it has some kinks to be worked out, but I was very easily able to overlook them when playing.
I am a little disappointed that some features were left out, like third person view and romances, but hope that these could be implemented into a sequel. Either way, I still enjoyed playing.
