Sarah (126 KP) rated Simple Chic Crochet: 35 stylish patterns to crochet in no time in Books
Feb 25, 2019
The cover picture for this book caught my eye while I was browsing for patterns to stash bust/single skein patterns, as it's a very simple pattern that can be worked up in any colourway and modified in countless ways.
I decided to get the book as part of my Scribd subscription, to browse the patterns while I got on with my cushion.
While a lot of the patterns are very pretty and some I would consider making, so many of them are freely available on the internet, with much more in-depth guidance for a beginner. I was a little disappointed that there weren't more original patterns from the writers, rather than so many "generic" crochet patterns.

Absolutely Heartwarming
An absolutely heartwarming tale of true love and what it really means to stand by someone through thick and thin. They've managed to successfully portray not only the degeneration of this illness but also the emotion that comes with it from not only the single individual but all those around them. It was tormenting watching the illness take over his life and prevent him from accomplishing everything he wanted, the acting was also perfect as he portrayed this torment and anguish beautifully. Slowly as he was broken down we all watched him grow stronger and more resilient as this is a true tale of overcoming the hardest of obstacles.

Jaw Dropping Humor (3 more)
Action Packed Fun
Great Acting
Wonderful Script
A Perfect Balance of Action and Humor
This is a movie I will never get sick of watching. Along with being absolutely hilarious this movie offers hilarious commentary passed between action sequences. For an action movie the plotline is extremely complete and thought out, for this reason alone the movie is good but they take it a step further than even that. The humor is well packed in and the characters are not only memorable but unique as well. There's nothing I love more than a truly unique, never before seen film and there is not a single movie out there that comes close to this.

Bong Mines Entertainment (15 KP) rated FYM (ft. Wiz Khalifa) - Single by Elohim in Music
Jun 6, 2019
Elohim is an artist and producer based in Los Angeles, California. Not too long ago, she released a new version of her “F*ck Your Money” single, entitled, “FYM (Rock Mafia Remix)”, featuring rapper Wiz Khalifa.
‘FYM (Rock Mafia Remix)’ contains a relatable storyline, harmonious vocals, and lush instrumentation flavored with electro-pop and hip-hop elements.
The likable tune follows last week’s release of Elohim’s new EP, entitled, “BRAINDEAD”.
The 7-track project explores Elohim’s courageous struggle with mental health, a centerpiece of her artistry and songwriting since day one.
The release of “BRAINDEAD” is timed with the month of May in support of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Alex Trybus (79 KP) rated Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus in Books

It is very well organized, and covers every important aspect of a relationship (2 more)
It is simultaneously rational, but filled with hope.
Relevant and applicable to every situation
This book got me through the worst breakup of my life
"I simply cannot recommend this book enough. It is a 'self-help' psychology book I suppose, but it is so much more than that. It is funny, witty, and more than anything: helpful. Whether you are in a relationship (happy or struggling), or recently single, this book will help you learn things about yourself you've never known. I hope this helps you our with 'your favorite Martian,' or 'your favorite Venusian.'" -from my Bookstagram account, rorythereader
It's very rare that I ever find a novel I cannot finish. While there is nothing wrong with Thomas's writing, this novel was so boring with no appeal, that I could not even force myself to continue reading it. The couple had no chemistry, and I often found myself annoyed with them for making the situation much hard than it really was.
The only thing I can really say about it is how I annoyed I am with the people's reaction to Verity's food. I can understand if it is good and people notice and act like such. I cannot justify every single person acting as if her food was a life changing experience just by sipping it.

Zuky the BookBum (15 KP) rated Helter Skelter: The True Story of the Manson Murders in Books
Mar 15, 2018
I read this over a weeks period while on holiday, and I found it difficult to put down! I've always been interested in crime, especially that of murders and kidnappings, so Helter Skelter seemed the perfect book for me. I love how in depth Bugliosi gets in this book, there's not a single piece of information missing. Once you finish this book you will know the Manson case inside out.
The second half can become a bit tedious due to the fact that it's all about the court case, however it still manages to grip you just as you're feeling a bit sleepy.
I may even go back to read this book again.

Such a great movie!! I would absolutely pay to see this movie a second time and will pre-order this one. My little girl asked to see it again before we left the theater.

So first off I just want to put out there that I'm deducting a star from my rating for the repeated and completely unnecessary usage of ableist slurs through out this book. There is no excuse for ret*rd to be used as almost every insult in a book, or being used multiple times on a single page. Putting that aside the book was just okay. The characters were very one note and had little to no development. The plot was predictable. It felt like someone was holding my hand down the most likely path possible. Overall I just don't think I gained anything from reading this other than some annoyance at its use of language.

Karica Truebenbach (156 KP) rated Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) in Movies
Sep 27, 2018
Well....
This is the second worst Jurassic Park movie in the franchise. The plot was ludicrous. I get that you can only do so much with dinosaurs being alive in the modern world, but seriously, this movie was ridiculous. There was a tragic scene that pulled at the heartstrings, and two new characters that brought some good comedy, but overall this movie should have gone straight to Netflix. The plot "twist" (who didn't see it coming?) was so unnecessary and added nothing to the movie except to explain a single moment of decision at the end. I pray that this is the last in the franchise because honestly, they have run out of ideas.
