Rosalind, Bianca, and Cordelia are the Andreas sisters. Rosalind(Rosie) is a professor at the local college, Bianca(Bean) is off in New York, working and enjoying the nightlife, Cordelia(Cordy)is riding the wind wherever it takes her. One summer, they all show up back at home. Although Rosie has never left the town they grew up with, she is staying with her parents a lot more now. Cordy & Bean show up, just when they are needed most. Their mother is sick and is going to need their help. Each sister has been drawn home for a different reason, but being home will change them all.

The Weird Sisters is a weird book. It was written in the third person, but I didn't know which sister was speaking at the time. Maybe this is because I listened to the audio instead of reading the actual book, but I found it strange that it seemed like they were talking about each other, but you never knew who was speaking at that time. Maybe there was a fourth sister.

This book was just okay for me. It was an interesting story, but there wasn't anything that really stood out for me to make this a great book.

Suspenseful, twisty, cannot put down
Emma and Cassandra were missing for 3 years. Some believed they were dead. Were the kidnapped? Murdered? Did they run away?
It starts out with a young Cassandra, Cass for short, telling about her mother and her older sister Emma. Her mother loved Cass more, and would often brush her hair and tell her how beautiful she was, while Emma was often denied love from her mother. Their mother would also ask them to tell her how beautiful she was. She needed to hear it frequently. They had a routine. When their parents split up, Emma told Cass to tell the courts they should live with their father and when she did, Emma did the opposite. Emma stood by her mother as a sort of betrayal to her sister. Now their mother loves Emma more and Cass is off to the side.
Cass tells about the day she disappeared, when she was 15, and her sister who also disappeared.
She was with Emma then, but now she's home. Alone. How is she going to tell people what really happened. She is very nervous. Has to get her story straight. What will people think? So where was Cass and What Happened To Emma?

Pretty Sister is a singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California. Not too long ago, he released a lyric video for his “Kingdom in the Valley” single.

“You know these bedrooms seen a whole lot of faces. 10 out of 10’s, they and their friends, MDMA in’ and this swimming pool has seen a whole lot of naked. Bodies on deck like video sets, all that cliché sh*t.” – lyrics

‘Kingdom in the Valley’ will be featured on Pretty Sister’s upcoming EP, which is a part of his forthcoming trio of multi-track projects.

The likable tune contains a relatable storyline and pleasing vocals. Also, the song possesses vibey instrumentation flavored with an electro-pop aroma.

Pretty Sister has spent the past year on the road, supporting Superfruit on a North American tour, touring with Betty Who, and performing on the 2019 Kesha Cruise: Kesha’s Weird & Wonderful Rainbow Ride.

His recent writing successes include Robert Delong’s “Revolutionary” single and Rozzi’s “Lose Us” song.

Also, his vocal contributions to Nause’s “Dynamite” single has resulted in over 110M streams, while his appearance on Madeon’s “The City” single helped to pull in a whopping 24M streams.

A Tale of Two Sisters
An engaging story of two sisters whose lives take very different paths. I loved the writing in this book and felt I was drawn into seeing the run-down Philadelphia neighborhood this book is set in.

Less a thriller and more a very character-driven tale of Michaela (Mickey,) a cop and her complicated relationship to her drug-addicted sister. When women start turning up dead on Mickey’s patch her concern for her sister intensifies. The book switches between the present day with Mickey’s search for a killer and her sister in a neighborhood suspicious of police and the tale of their growing-up in less than ideal circumstances.

Part police procedural/mystery/thriller I wouldn’t pick this book up if that’s what you are really craving as this isn’t done in a particularly satisfying way with what felt like a slightly rushed resolution after a slow-burn start to this aspect. I would, however, recommend picking it up if you fancy a gritty emotional look into the world of a neighborhood ravaged by drugs and the strong family ties that persevere.

Many thanks to the publisher, author and Netgalley for the copy in exchange for an honest review.
