The Castaways was a tense, riveting read - and not a great advert for one of those smaller passenger planes!
Lori and Erin, sisters, go on holiday to Fiji - a treat paid for by Lori. The night before their flight to a small island, the sisters have a terrible argument and Erin disappears. She doesn’t turn up at the airport for their connecting flight either. So Lori boards the plane and it disappears en route to the island.
Two years later, Erin is still trying to find out where the plane crashed and what exactly happened. She’s a journalist, so has some experience of researching information. When the pilot of the plane suddenly appears and is taken to hospital in Fiji, Erin knows that she has to go and speak to him. He’s the only one that knows what happened to her sister. Her employers pay for her to go, under the proviso that she’ll write an article about it.
What I really liked about this, is that the chapters alternated between Erin going to Fiji to see the pilot, and the flashbacks to Lori, the crash and it’s aftermath. If I’d had the book in front of me instead of just a stave (an instalment) to read each day, I probably would have read it in one sitting. Except that I have to go to work!
And for the record, it’s a good job that I have no intention of flying anywhere anytime soon, because the crash scene is frankly terrifying!
Many thanks to the Pigeonhole for helping me with my NetGalley reading (again!), and to Lucy Clarke for reading along with us.

Taking out your sisters pieces
Figuring out the patterns of the slides.
I loved this game as a kid.... not sure it would hold up now.
I'd love to get my hands on a copy of this game. I'd love to try it out now and see how it holds up. I imagine it would be pretty easy to memorize the patterns of the boards sliders, The real skill is in knowing how to move them, and the placement of the marble pawns. I think I would have a blast reliving my childhood for an hour. playing best out of three. I also think this might make a very cool retro art piece for my gaming room wall.

This book get me and enjoy each and every time I pick it up and read it. This book is about Almanzo Wilder and his family. It about him and his brother, sisters and his mother and father.

It goes though all the seasons. It tell about Almanzo childhood. There time that he grateful to have Eliza Jane as his sister there an accident that happens while his parents are on Vacation for a week. You can tell Almanzo does not want to school and enjoy working on the farm more then going to school.

It tell you in detail about the planting season. It also tell you a lot about his livestyle and the way he was raised. It a good book for young adults and children as well.

This book was utterly beautiful. I don't normally think of books as being beautiful but the story that was spun in this book just tugged at those heart strings and made me both sad and happy.

The story of the three sisters coming back every summer for their revenge was so captivating. I had a feeling I knew where the story as headed and what was going to happen, but then you read it, and you just think...this is unreal.

Bo was a catalyst in a long string of events and everyone deserves their happy ending - but this one left me speechless - talk about a book hangover.

I just loved it too much for it's own good - 110% recommend.

Mermaids? not quite - sirens.. maybe .. my brain is still whirling
