Another one of them there revisionist westerns, probably, which basically means that no-one wears a white hat and everyone probably smells quite bad. This benefits a lot from some really good performances and a good script, for the first three quarters at least. The end is the kind of thing that proper critics tend to enjoy but audiences don't, which may be why this has not done well at the box office. Not sure about the start of the journey or the destination, but there is a lot of fun to be had along the way.

I also didn't like how little Scarlett is actually in this book. A lot of things were going on that she could have helped with, but instead she was reduced to an unimportant side character.
Despite this I did really enjoy the book, and I am looking forward to the next one. I hope both of the sisters play a large role in the story going forward.

The baking competition allowed food to be brought into the book seamlessly, and the competition itself was plenty of fun. It’s always great to revisit the characters, too. The murder takes a back seat early on, but it gets plenty of focus as we rush toward the ending. I do hope the wedding sticks because, while it was rushed, I do love the potential I see in this character and relationship.

This book had some great action in it, some heart wrenching moments to read, and some moments where I had to put it down and just think. This is by far one of the best books I have read this year. It makes you question your own actions and thoughts. It made me look into myself and wonder what I would have done in the same position. This is definitely a book that I would recommend to any of my friends.
It is a quick and easy read and I will definitely be reading the second and third book.

This book is one of my favorites. I have read it 5 or 6 times already, and I always get something new out of it. Her spirituality is accessible to everyone, and that is what I love about it. This is by far the best translation in my opinion. The language, while still flowery, is not saccharine sweet, which I have found to be the case in some other translations. Also, the earlier translations, were heavily edited by her sisters. Don't hesitate to read this book because it was written by a young nun during the 1800s. There is really something for everyone contained in her writings, and it's definitely worth re-reading.

Anyway, I loved this story of human sisters abducted after their parents were murdered, and brought up in Faerie by the murderer. Lots of intrigue, fairy Princes, Kings and spies. And the ending was pretty unexpected too. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series!
