A zombie movie with a heart?
After reading some great reviews for this film (some on Smashbomb) I thought I would give this modern Korean zombie film a try.
Boy was I glad I did.
Nothing too complicated with the plot here. Just a straight escape the zombie hoard before they bite you and make you part of the global onslaught type thing.
The characters are not well explained for the most part, but you care about them anyways when bad things start to happen. Blood and guts are amped down in favor of tension instead which I liked. The chase scenes were great and keep me watching and on the edge of my seat.
For those who don't like foreign films no worries here. The action and story keep you going almost immediately and you forget you are watching and reading at the same time.
Highly recommended. (Find on Netflix currently).

Siren’s Surrender ( Dark Tides book 2)
By Devyn Quinn
Once read a review will be written via Smashbomb and link posted in comments
Never embracing her mermaid heritage, Gwen Lonike lives in the human world as the owner of a Maine B&B. But when the gateway to a lost mermaid kingdom is opened, freeing its dangerous queen, Gwen can no longer hide, nor keep her secret from covert agent Blake Whittaker, who's assigned to trail a strange thread of paranormal activity.
How long can Gwen and her sisters remain safe from a destructive queen, and from Blake's superiors, whose ultimate mission could prove the greatest threat of all?
This is the second in the series and I did enjoy it but not as much as the first! The end felt a bit rushed and the stay in federal custody seemed to go on about things we really didn’t care about! But we got to see Gwen find her love! An enjoyable series!

By Peter McKeirnon

Follow the zombie outbreak as it happens in the small Northern English town of Runcorn, with journal entries from survivor John Diant, bringing you the apocalypse from his perspective as he goes in search for his missing daughter with his retro, chain smoking best friend 80s Dave.
Bloody brilliant!! I laughed so much! In my opinion it was well written and definitely funny. Love finding little gems like this especially from British authors. The Geese were just a fantastic idea and I loved this apocalypse included animals too. Loved the bloke throw zombies off the high rise block of flats and the zombies heads on pikes.
Can’t wait to read more I would recommend give these authors a go! X

Accacias Blood ( Sisters of Hex book 2)
By Bea Paige
Once read a review will be written via Smashbomb and link posted in comments
After saving Rhain from an agonising death, Accacia is determined to find her missing friend Clover and rescue her from the mysterious Fae. With the assistance of her vampire knights, the group head into the forbidden forest of Ever Vale and into a world of mystery and magic.Drawn deeper into the depths of the wood, Accacia learns what it is to have courage, to fight for the ones you love and to know when to let them go.
It’s an easy read and an easy to follow story. I did prefer the 1st book to this one I’m hoping they pick up a little. I’m glad we finally get Ezra to stop being all moody and self involved. Devin had to be my favourite and he’s just gone dark so the next book should be better for me.

The Beast House ( Beast House chronicles book 2)
By Richard Laymon
Once read a review will be written via Smashbomb and link posted in comments
Author Gorman Hardy is hot on the trail of another bestseller and if half what's said about Malcasa Point is true, he's bound to make a killing. Petite and pretty Tyler and sexy Nora visit Malcasa full of expectation. But Malcasa Point is a place of pain, bestiality and death in The Beast House.
Well I have to say it’s 100% better than The Cellar! I can see from other reviews a lot of people agree on it. I found myself enjoying this. It was a classic horror in my opinion and there’s nothing wrong with a bit of classic. I enjoyed the captains story on Bobo it was very King Kong based except this was a rampant rabbit monster gone wild! A bit of cheese to keep a girl who loves horror happy.

Broken Snow ( The Society book 4)
By Mason Sabre

Who would you kill for your freedom?
Broken Snow, a heart-pounding companion story in Mason Sabre's Paranormal and Urban Fantasy, Society Series, Mel Morris must do just that …
Money hunters. That’s what they call them. A bunch of underground vigilantes sweeping the area for anyone out of curfew or breaking the law.
Mel Morris, a snow leopard and self-proclaimed recluse, finds herself in more trouble than she can imagine. All she was doing was heading to town for supplies ... but ... catching the eye of one of the money hunters' spotters, Mel walks into a danger that she didn't realise had been following her all along.
There’s a secret, though. These money hunters aren’t just looking for criminals … they were looking for her. A shifter caught in a race, and she is the prize.

NO ONE KNOWS THE MIND OF A KILLER LIKE EMMA KAVANAGH.
I've been watching you DS Alice Parr.
I saw you trying to save the poor young woman you found in the park.
The woman I tried to kill.
I've been waiting for you to find her family. To find someone who cares about her.
But you can't can you?
You've never had a case like this.
I know everything about you. You know nothing about me.
Even though I'm the man you're looking for.
And you will never catch me...
This was such a good book! I really enjoyed it, well written with a great plot and from what I can gather it continues into her next book. Definitely want to read more from this author.

The Reviled ( Dark Fey Book 1)
By Cynthia A. Morgan
Once read a review will be written via Smashbomb and link posted in comments
From a young age, Ayla has learned about the mortal enemy of all Fey of the Light: The cruel Reviled Fey. Gairynzvl is a Fey of the Light who was abducted by the Reviled when he was young. Now, he is one of them. Lurking in the shadows, he lingers near Ayla and secretly whispers to her. The mystery he presents is irresistible, although she knows the Reviled Fey are menacing and devious. Learning what he wants is only the beginning. Should she trust him? Or will he tear her world apart?
It was all a bit meh I’m sorry I just couldn’t find anything that gripped me! I’m hoping it’s just a world builder starter book. We will see! The characters lacked any ooomph.
