"The book deals with identity, social issues, and life in general. I needed a little help with processing things. The book was her way of saying, 'I know where you’re at and I know where you’re about to go.' I still cherish that. It changed my perspective."

Well done presenting the history of this storyline and portraying the conflicting ideologies minorities face in light of history, present, and future. Hard not to leave this movie without thinking about modern social issues, yet these were not “in your face” throughout the movie - ie not forced. The powerful female characters were breathtaking and refreshing!!!

This novel was amazing. It made me really think about social issues. I loved the emotions that played over the pages, tempting the reader into wanting more. I had to read this for a class, but I am very glad that the professor assigned it. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Great novel.

Hooked from the beginning
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Although set in a future, one can see the headline issues of today wrapped up in a complicated film-noir private detective archetype. Something about hard-boiled crime and mystery supported by futuristic tech and commentary on the social elite really pulls me in.
