Marvel's latest made-for-tv, and (apparently) the first in their 'Spotlight' series of more adult-orientated affairs (think Netflix's Daredevil, The Punisher, etc), following the character Echo first introduced in Hawkeye; the niece of the Kingpin.

Yes, the same Kingpin (and actor) as in the superb Netflix Daredevil series.

Charlie Cox Daredevil also has what amounts to an extended cameo in the latter half of the first episode, the first half of which is pretty much a recap of previous series!

Only 5 episodes long; starts strong but seems to run out of steam a bit.

Better than expected
I wasn't sure what I'd think of this one as it looked a bit strange, but I liked it. The cinematography and effects were great with lots of fun and exciting action sequences combining a genre-mix of styles. From steam-punk to anime style(live action though) to sci-fi but all with one thing im common, a group of "badass" girls kicking butt. It all kept the story from being what would've probably been a fairly boring tale about a group of women's attempt to escape an insane asylum. Overall a very entertaining movie with interesting characters and a fun, unique style. Worth a watch!

I was expecting for their to be more time spent in Paris--what with the title and all--but it lasted from 49% to 61% which isn't that long and then they were back in the States and their relationship was full steam ahead.

It's a fairly long book and though something seems to be happening all the time I found myself a little...dare I say it, bored? in some places.

I did enjoy it though and the characters were interesting. I'm dying to find out what happens with the other two couples too so I think I'll be buying the next two books when they're available.

Surprisingly addictive
I actually ended up with Pixel Puzzles from a G2A random game pack and left it in my Steam library for almost a year until I saw someone mention it again recently. I expected poor quality but actually, this is a really fun jigsaw puzzle game. There's a ton of achievements to be gained and by doing puzzles you 'earn' tokens that you can buy things within the in-game shop that you can customise your game with (backgrounds, music, cursors, even extra puzzles). The puzzles come in various piece amounts from 60 into the hundreds, and they are often created in various styles so it's not just the same old jigsaw pieces with different images.

The game is a time sink; before you know it you've spent 2 hrs on a puzzle or 3. There's so much in there and considering you can get packs for a couple of pounds in various places, it's a really fun thing to have in your library. However once you're through those cheap packs the new ones can cost a fortune, which is where this game loses points. Personally, I expect to be able to buy the game with all the puzzles, not have to fork out more and more money just to get new images.

Surprising
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The acting was good with interesting characters. The cinematography, imagery, effects were all very well done. The story unfolded ok but had a lot of very predictable parts. This was a "Steam Punk" future world with a lot of cool stuff in it but had just a bit of a "Star Wars-esque" feel to it. Not in a bad way, though. But the story, simplified, was that someone opened Pandora's box and the heroes had to shut it down. Anyway, if you enjoy a good sci-fi/action/adventure tale with just a smidge of love story thrown in, you'll really enjoy this movie. Worth a watch!

Marie's Room
Marie's Room
2018 | 3D, Casual, Role-Playing
Kind of like Life is Strange, Marie's Room is the story of two girls--just without any of the supernatural elements. You move around (get this) Marie's room and piece together the events that happened twenty years before. The gameplay involves adjusting your sight with your mouse and moving with your keyboard, but it's surprisingly fluid. The goal is to complete Marie's journal by finding all the clues around her room. The soundtrack is awesome and included in the DLC on Steam. It's approximately an hour of gameplay, but it's a free game. There are no save options, as it's meant to be played in one session. It's a neat little visual story.

so steamy once they decide to act on their attraction!
I was gifted my copy of this book, direct from the author.

This is book 2 in the Hot Under the Collar series, and it can totally be read as a stand alone. HOWEVER, I loved book 1, Sweat Connection, like LOVED IT, so I strongly recommend you read that book as well. Not necessary, but my personal opinion.

Taken from the review I wrote for book one:

I'm not rehashing the blurb, and I'm not telling you the story, I'ma just gonna jump straight in!

READ THIS FREAKING BOOK, PEOPLE!

Again, I'm jumping straight in, cos I bloody loved this book!

Theo and Lex have chemistry, right from the start, but the major dislike for each other takes centre stage for a time. Once they click on the app, all bets are off.

I loved that Lex, once he knew about them, made an effort to ease Theo's issues with germs. Like he took wet wipes for Theo to clean the table at the diner. I loved those little things he did.

There is steam here, so much steam. Once they decide to act of the attraction, it flies hawt off the charts! But emotional too. Theo is dealing with his past exes, and Lex had his heart broken. But they get there, they really do.

I loved the goat yoga! I could see that happening, it was so much fun!

I loved book one, and I loved this one too. I can't wait for book 3!

I just found Christina Lauren by reading Love and Other Words and had to find another of her books, I'm glad I found this one.

I loved the dynamic between Holland and Collin. It's a crush, it's a ruse, it's love. The characters are easy to relate to and you root for them the entire book. There are some VERY steamy parts in the book that make the book just that perfect segway from sweet to sultry. As a woman, I'd love to rumple some sheets with Collin myself. :)

As with any romance, the storyline runs on a formula:

*girl meets boy
*insert positive storyline
*insert insurmountable problem
*insert resolution
*insert HEA

Luckily the storyline, writing style, character dynamic, and steam give the formula the kick it needs to be a good book.

Take one commitment-phobe vampire and one part-human part-fae who have been dancing around each other for two years. What you get is a short story filled with passion and history. There is no insta-love with this story, instead, it's been building between them for two years before either of them realises what it is. Of course, it takes the presence of very real danger to both of them to make them realise but this just gives the story some action.

A quick read, full of steam. Definitely recommended.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book; the comments here are my honest opinion. *

There is steam a-plenty, but not ever so explicit
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

The man drove her nuts, making negative comments about her business! But Lord he was preety to look at. Wyatt has an opinion about everything, and it riles Sydney up no end. When Sydney finds out why he was sent to help, she ain't happy, not at all. She can't mis business and pleasure, can she?

I enjoyed this, a lot. I didn't love it though and I'll tell you why shortly.

I loved Sydney, I really did. She won't let Wyatt help, because it's HER business, it belongs to her family. She knows she needs help, she just doesn't want Wyatt's.

Wyatt is a bit more difficult to like, especially until we get his say. He really does rile Sydney up, and at points he riles ME up, but once we get into his head, his motivation becomes clear: Sydney could well be the one for him to fix the heart that was broken 3 years ago.

There is steam a-plenty, but not ever so explicit. As much as I enjoy the down and oh-so-dirty books, sometimes, it's not needed.

You can see what's gonna happen when Sydney finds out what Wyatt does like a train wreck you can't stop, but I do like that.

Why not loved it? Simple. First person. Present tense. AND multi point of view. Quite possibly my trifecta of hell BUT I am trying to give books written as such a chance, and I'm glad I did with this one.

A thoroughly enjoyable read.
