Shaun Collins (3 KP) rated I Hate Fairyland, Vol. 1: Madly Ever After in Books
Jan 12, 2018
Holy Schnikez, Scottie Young is bonkers! But in a good way. This eschews the fairy tale genre like the old Fractured Fairy Tale segments on Rocky and Bullwinkle, or the more recent Shrek, but it's more about attacking the tropes than specific stories. Attacking them with a big, sugar coated, double-bladed axe...
BookCritics (259 KP) rated Difficult Women in Books
May 16, 2017
Overall Difficult Women is a pretty good set of stories. Since this is the first I've read from this author I didn't know what to expect, but I really love her writing style.

GameCritics (290 KP) rated The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind in Video Games
Aug 11, 2017
Morrowind, despite being hugely improved from the base game, still isn't going to scratch that itch. But this new chapter is one of the most encompassing and charming repositories for great stories

Each season creates a new clutch of characters and concerns, each of which are then seamlessly woven into the existing plotlines, the show built such a deep reservoir of stories and faces

starwarsluvr (236 KP) rated The War Veteran in Books
Jan 30, 2018
I am not a huge fan of war stories but this one was gripping and very well written. She went into the mind of Jack and pulled out every nightmare and everything he went through and wrote it into this amazing short story. It was amazing and the writing was superb and wonderful.
Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated The Blizzard of '88 in Books
Jan 15, 2018
This is a topic I love to read about, well this and any other disaster. This book was well researched but it seemed a bit repetitive. It just kept jumping all over the place. The facts are correct and the stories are good but there may have been a few too many included.
Erika (17789 KP) rated Captain Marvel, Vol. 1: Rise of Alpha Flight in Books
Feb 19, 2018
Ugh, I wanted to like the new Captain Marvel comics after Marvel did Warzones and basically blew everything into oblivion. But, Michele Fazekas is no Kelly Sue DeConnick. It also borrowed half of the story-line from one of the old Ms. Marvel stories. I'm not sure I'll want to continue reading on...

Booze and legends
Listen to myths and legends presented and analyzed by two amazing hosts, with a smattering of feminist and queer theory applied to everything from Tarot to selkies. I can't recommend it enough. Plus, urban legends from listeners, native sources for native stories, and drink recommendations! Spirits is absolutely amazing.

The Truth Shall Set You Free
have heard great things about Mr Patterson.
"Brilliant Writer"
"You've not lived till you've read his work"
"He is an absolute genius, how he comes up with these stories is beyond me"
and so on and so forth.
So naturally, I was curious, but not impressed.

MissCagey (2652 KP) rated The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2012) in Movies

Such a charming, brilliantly acted film. I loved all the different characters and how they progress through the film as you start to discover their back stories. Just the right amount of humour, love and sadness. The acting was perfect with no one trying to outdo or scene steal from the others.
